Seongnam Italian restaurant for tomato pasta lovers: Andover

Today, I’m introducing Andover, a lovely brunch spot in Pangyo with a great atmosphere.

With its modern, stylish atmosphere and beautiful-looking food, it is also a great spot for a blind date or date night. From the salad and flounder steak to the pasta, everything at Andover was satisfying—let me tell you all about it.

Modern interiors and thoughtful reserved-table details

The moment I walked in, I could feel the modern, stylish atmosphere. It is clean yet has a slightly exotic feel, making it a space where you can enjoy the ambience as much as the meal.

There are tables for two to eight people, so I recommend it not only for blind dates and dates but also for wedding-invitation gatherings. Groups of at least 10 and up to 20 people can visit, too.

There is outdoor terrace seating as well. On lovely days like these, it would be nice to eat on the terrace with a cool breeze.

I made a reservation before visiting, and when I arrived at my reservation time, I was shown straight to my table.

The reserved table had a wine bottle with a reservation note tucked into it, plus pretty flowers. Those little details were so beautifully arranged that I thought it would be a wonderful place for a special occasion like a blind date, date, or anniversary.

Andover offers a wide range of brunch and signature dishes, including salads, risotto, and pasta. You can also choose from coffee, drinks, non-alcoholic options, wine and wine snacks, beer, sauces, and merchandise according to your taste.

The Fresh Basil Salad, flounder steak, and pasta all arrived together, and isn’t the presentation gorgeous? The colors were so vibrant and the plating so neat that I started taking photos as soon as the food arrived. I feasted with my eyes first—now, let’s try each one!

How should you eat the Fresh Basil Salad?

Fresh Basil Salad, ₩24,000. This is one of Andover’s signature dishes.

It comes with fresh basil pesto made in-house at Andover, fresh salad greens, marinated cherry tomatoes, burrata cheese, and baguette. For reference, all of Andover’s food and sauces are prepared using recipes made by the family together.

Simply top the crisp toasted baguette with the fresh basil pesto, salad, burrata, and marinated tomatoes. With one bite, the fragrant, fresh flavor of the basil pesto spreads first, followed by the savory richness of the soft, creamy burrata.

The marinated tomatoes add a bright note, while the crisp baguette makes the texture so satisfying. The fresh basil pesto is wonderfully fragrant to begin with, and the nutty cheese and tangy tomatoes come together so harmoniously. So delicious.

Flounder steak and baguette

Flounder Steak & Baguette, ₩32,000. This is another of Andover’s signature dishes. I ordered it because blog reviews were so good, and now I see exactly why.

The golden-seared flounder steak comes with a sauce full of clams, mushrooms, broccoli, tomatoes, carrots, and other vegetables, along with crisp toasted baguette. One bite of the flounder reveals mild, tender flesh with the savory depth drawn from the clams. It is really delicious.

Especially when you place the flounder and vegetables on the crisp baguette, the nutty crunch of the bread meets moist fish and an umami-packed sauce. Every bite feels wonderfully full of flavor.

Stracciatella Tomato Pasta review

Stracciatella Tomato Pasta, ₩23,000. I had never seen this dish before, so I ordered it out of curiosity—and it was completely my kind of food.. The springy pasta is generously coated in a rich tomato sauce and topped with soft cheese.

The pasta is cooked al dente, so it still has a pleasing bite, while the tomato sauce is tangy with a subtle kick of spice that really wakes up your appetite.

There are tomatoes and olives in it, too, and eating them with the pasta makes it even more delicious with their bright, salty flavor. The cheese on top has a texture somewhere between mozzarella and burrata; it is incredibly soft, nutty, and delicious.

Seriously.. seriously..... every single bite is so delicious.. Personally, it suited my taste so perfectly that it was even better than many of the pastas I ate in Italy. It was so good that it has officially become my pasta of a lifetime!
