Today I stopped by for a quick meal and ended up way more satisfied than expected, so here's my review of Samhyeongje Gimbap, Sangam branch (삼형제김밥 상암점) 💛 I visited the location at Nuridream Square B1, 1029, 396 World Cup buk-ro, Mapo-gu, Seoul 📍✨

Samhyeongje Gimbap says it's a yubu gimbap (fried tofu skin gimbap) specialist brand built on 40 years of Haenam original gimbap tradition, plus the care of a mother raising three sons 👩‍🍳💕 Since it's not just a regular gimbap shop but focuses specifically on yubu gimbap, I was curious what it would taste like before I even walked in 😆

I was pretty hungry that day, so after some thought I ordered two rolls of gimbap lol 🤭 And since gimbap alone felt like it might not be quite enough, I added a cup of yukgaejang (spicy beef soup) instant noodles too 🍜❤️

Don't the names alone sound delicious? Lol. Kimchi tuna yubu gimbap especially sounded like a rice-thief combo just from the name 🤤 and wasabi tuna yubu gimbap was hard to pass up if you like wasabi 💚

When I got the gimbap, it felt a bit different from regular gimbap 👀 Maybe because of the yubu, everything felt softer and had an extra nutty richness 🥰

I tried the kimchi tuna yubu gimbap first 🌶️🌶️ Oh~ 😳 The spicy-tangy kimchi flavor combined with the nuttiness of tuna, and then the sweet, moist quality of the yubu tied it all together — the combination was pretty great 👍🏻💕 Because there was kimchi, it never felt greasy! Tuna gimbap can sometimes feel a bit heavy, but the kimchi stepped in right in the middle to balance the flavor 👏🏻👏🏻

How sharp is the wasabi tuna yubu gimbap?

It was the kind of flavor that made you want bite after bite lol 🤭 True to its name, the umami really comes through, so I think anyone who loves gimbap would enjoy it 😋💕

Second up was the wasabi tuna yubu gimbap 🌱✨ The moment I took a bite, that distinct sharp wasabi aroma popped! and it was fun lol 🤣💚 The wasabi wasn't overly intense — instead it blended with the nutty tuna flavor and left my mouth feeling clean and refreshed ✨ The soft, nutty tuna combined with the wasabi's sharpness gave it a completely different charm from the kimchi tuna yubu gimbap 🥹💕

Personally, ordering two rolls in different flavors was such a good call 👍🏻 One roll, kimchi's spicy-tangy kick 🌶️ the other, wasabi's sharp tingle 🌱

Gimbap with yukgaejang cup noodles: does the combo work?

Eating them alternately meant I never got tired of either one and kept reaching for more lol 😆 And of course, the essential companion here — yukgaejang cup noodles 🍜❤️ Gimbap plus cup noodles is a combo that really needs no explanation... 🥹 lol

A bite of hot yukgaejang noodles, then a bite of gimbap — pure comfort and fullness 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Especially mid-gimbap, taking a sip of the spicy hot yukgaejang broth felt like it cleaned my palate completely, which I loved 🔥🍜

In the end I properly finished two rolls of gimbap plus the yukgaejang cup noodles 😎✨ I meant to eat something simple, but it turned into a pretty filling meal lol 🤣💕 What impressed me most was that Samhyeongje Gimbap is a specialist brand for yubu gimbap 💛 There's a distinct soft, sweet charm to the yubu that regular gimbap doesn't have, so I think I'll remember this place whenever I want something a bit different 🥰
