Lately I've really been into markets haha >< So I went to check out Amsa Market and ended up impulse-buying dakgangjeong hehe. There's no dedicated parking for Amsa Market, so I used the street public parking lot instead.

Gimssi Chicken Amsa Market Branch: location, hours and parking

Gimssi Chicken Amsa Market Branch is at 21 Olympic-ro 98-gil, 1F 105, Gangdong-gu, Seoul, open daily from 11:00 to 22:00. There's no parking at the store, so I'd recommend the Amsa Market street public parking lot.

Amsa 1-dong Public Parking Lot No.2 near Amsa Market was ₩250 per 5 minutes, which felt pretty cheap haha. It was a Sunday, and there were open spots so I parked right away — there was an attendant managing the lot too. You just pay on your way out haha. Plenty of space available.

This was my first time at Amsa General Market. It's not huge, but it was packed with people.

Gimssi Chicken Amsa Market Branch, an Amsa-dong favorite, sits right at the market entrance so it was super easy to find. There are several dakgangjeong shops inside Amsa Market, but Gimssi Chicken was the only one with a line haha. Guess it really is the Amsa-dong favorite~~

Everyone was crazy busy but the owner was still so friendly ><ㅎㅎ It's known for dakgangjeong, but they also had regular fried chicken, drumsticks, wings, and drumettes.

Which size and flavor to order for two at Gimssi Chicken

Gimssi Chicken's dakgangjeong comes in medium, large, and extra-large. Flavors are mild, medium-spicy, and spicy ><

Even better, Onnuri gift certificates are accepted~~ >< Since it was dinner for two of us, I went with one large medium-spicy dakgangjeong plus 4 drumsticks ><. True to its Amsa-dong reputation, those drumsticks looked insane,, how could you not buy them looking that good ㅠ.ㅠ

Carrying the Amsa Market takeout to Gwangnaru Han River Park

I carried the dakgangjeong and drumsticks from Gimssi Chicken Amsa Market Branch over to Gwangnaru Han River Park. Amsa Market is nice and close to Gwangnaru Han River Park~

The weather was so nice that day, so we headed to the Han River hehe. I think everyone should take out from Gimssi Chicken Amsa Market Branch, the Amsa-dong favorite, and eat it at the river park. They even threw in some salt, which was such a nice touch. It's delicious plain, but dipping the drumstick in salt makes it even better, just so you know (❁´◡`❁)💛

Gimssi Chicken looked so, so good,, and the portion was surprisingly generous?! It was actually a lot for two people to finish.

Why the 4 drumsticks for 6,000 won are worth adding

Gimssi Chicken's drumsticks are crispy outside, juicy inside, with really plump meat — even one alone was quite satisfying. The drumsticks looked insane,, and tasted insane too ㅠㅠ I'm ordering them again next time><. If you visit Gimssi Chicken Amsa Market Branch, the Amsa-dong favorite, definitely try the drumsticks!!

How spicy is the medium-spicy dakgangjeong?

The moment we'd been waiting for~~ dakgangjeong. I ordered medium-spicy, and it was surprisingly hot. I'm not really into spicy dakgangjeong, so next time I'll go for mild ><. That said, the medium-spicy was still really tasty. It came with rice cakes too, and those rice cakes were amazing haha. Even the rice cakes are good?!🥹🫶🏻🫶🏻

There was a hint of ketchup flavor in the dakgangjeong sauce. It had that tasty tteokbokki-sauce vibe, which is completely my style~~ Ah, I want to eat it again already ><. Take a look at these sturdy drumsticks before you go,,

Does Gimssi Chicken taste good the next day?

The large medium-spicy dakgangjeong from Gimssi Chicken Amsa Market Branch, the Amsa-dong favorite, was too much for two people so we had leftovers >< I ate it for lunch the next day and it was still delicious haha. Gimssi Chicken's dakgangjeong is amazing even after a day,, amazing even cold!! If you're at Amsa Market, I fully recommend Gimssi Chicken as the go-to Amsa-dong favorite haha. Definitely try it~~
