What the restaurant feels like, and is there a wait?

The restaurant felt open, clean, and upscale — the kind of place that fits its long-standing popularity in this spot.

We arrived right at 5pm, before the crowds hit yet. Funnily enough, right as our food came out and we were about to eat, customers started pouring in nonstop. There may be a wait during peak meal times.

What we ordered: sushi platter, salmon jang rice bowl and two kids' sets

Six pieces of sushi that even picky kids would enjoy. Our second-grade son ate it all up happily.

The croquette that came with the kids' set was a pretty ordinary one.

What comes with the 21,900-won sushi platter

The sushi platter comes with 8 pieces of sushi + udon + 3 pieces of tempura + tofu salad + vegetable salad.

The sushi was pleasantly thick-cut, with a satisfying chew that got nuttier the more you chewed.

The udon noodles were bouncy and the broth was rich. I could really taste the bonito flakes in the broth, and it was completely my kind of thing. The portion was huge too — you could probably fill up on just the udon alone.

The tempura had one each of shrimp, sweet potato, and eggplant — basically the top three best things to eat fried, all in one plate.

Salmon jang (soy-marinated salmon) rice bowl

The salmon jang rice bowl also comes as a full platter. Just like the sushi platter, it includes udon, tofu salad, 3 pieces of tempura, and vegetable salad. The udon was again huge in portion and rich in flavor. I really loved the udon at Moshi Moshi Sushi — turns out this place is actually an udon spot!

Wasabi is always a good idea with Japanese food. There's a strange thrill in having it clear out your nose, and either way, a proper dab of wasabi amplifies how good the food tastes. The salmon jang's sweet soy marinade felt well-aged, and the salmon itself was moist and chewy — I loved it. One thing's for sure: the texture is completely different from regular salmon sushi.

Kids' set 2: pork cutlet with mini udon

This is the kids' set for our 31-month-old. I thought it was a great fit for toddlers. The pork cutlet was fried well and came with rice, making it filling. As I keep saying, this place is an udon spot, so it's guaranteed to be tasty. Kids love this kind of udon broth. He ate well.
