Gwanggyo evening café: grapefruit ade and whole cake order, Café Diaz

Hello! Today I wanted dessert after an early dinner, so I decided to check out Café Diaz, a cake café near my place that's genuinely famous for its cakes.

It's really well known as a cake spot around Suwon — the flagship store is in Ingye-dong, and with KT Wiz Park and the Galleria Gwanggyo branch I visited, there are three locations total.

The Ingye-dong flagship is big enough to run a café and a separate cake boutique, and getting a spot inside KT Wiz Park (stadiums don't usually let just any shop in, right?) gives you a sense of how good and how famous this place is ^^

So let me start my honestly delicious visit review of Café Diaz ^^

Café Diaz Galleria Gwanggyo: hours, address and parking

• Hours: Mon–Thu 10:30–20:00 (last order 19:30) / Fri–Sat 10:30–20:30 (last order 20:00)
• Parking: underground parking available at Galleria department store (free time varies by purchase amount)
• Signature menu: cream box cake, whole cakes (summer cake, apple mango cake, peach cake, etc.)

Where is Café Diaz on B1 of Galleria Gwanggyo, and is there seating?

Café Diaz is on the basement level of Galleria Gwanggyo, in an area packed with food stalls and dessert counters. I drove in, so I came up the escalator from the underground parking lot and found it easily right where I arrived!

That said, since there's no dedicated seating area, it's perfect for grabbing cake and drinks to go after a walk around Gwanggyo Lake Park or some shopping in the department store. If you'd rather eat inside the mall, you can also use the tables at the food court~

Right next door is the chocolate brand Godiva. Good landmark if you're having trouble finding the place~

Why I ordered the grapefruit ade instead of the signature latte

Café Diaz has a signature latte, an Einspänner, and even a Häagen-Dazs ice cream latte! I really, really wanted one, but since I'd just eaten meat right before, I ordered grapefruit ade and an iced Americano instead of the signature drink ㅠㅠ (it looked so good — next time for sure!)

Which whole cakes were left at 6 p.m., and how to reserve one

This is one of Café Diaz's signatures — the whole cakes. Since I came around 6 p.m., not every cake was available, but I got to see the fig cake, fruit cream cake, and peach cake. Isn't it kind of precious to see mountains of fresh fruit piled on top like that? ^^

Every cake at Café Diaz is made fresh daily with domestic eggs, and to reserve a whole cake you can call or book in person two days before pickup — discounts are also announced through their Kakao channel and Instagram account~~ Next time I visit I'm planning to try the fruit cream cake haha

If a whole cake feels like too much, you can also get slice cakes like this. The blueberries looked especially fresh, so we went with the blueberry slice cake! (Total winner — my pick was right!)

Party supplies and the review event at Café Diaz

Cake and parties go hand in hand, right? You can pick up a variety of party supplies here too haha, aren't they adorable?

How did the iced Americano and grapefruit ade taste?

This is Café Diaz's coffee and drink price list. There's a huge range of coffee, drinks and teas — as mentioned, we ordered an Americano and a refreshing grapefruit ade. After browsing the store and checking out the cakes, our drinks and cake arrived! Ta-da~

They served it neatly in a cup holder with the Café Diaz logo on it. The Americano had just the right amount of acidity and a bit of body — a really well-balanced cup.

The grapefruit ade had that signature refreshing grapefruit flavor, and it was packed with plump grapefruit bits, so I kept getting little bursts of it with every sip haha (grapefruit is my favorite ㅠㅠㅠ)

Blueberry slice cake: how it was packed and how it tasted

The slice cake came packed in a cute, tidy little box, so it was really clean and easy to carry home!

And here's the star — the blueberry slice cake. They loaded it with super fresh blueberries!

I love blueberries for their sweetness and that little bite, so I eat them often anyway — and here they layered the cake and packed blueberries throughout, so the aroma and texture of blueberry spread through every bite. Genuinely fun and delicious the whole way through ^^

Is Café Diaz Galleria Gwanggyo worth a stop? Final verdict

• It's perfect for coffee and dessert after shopping at Galleria department store or a walk around nearby Gwanggyo Lake Park. You can take it home or eat it at the food court in the mall — either way works.
• The blueberries in the slice cake were so fresh, this really is a café that's serious about its cakes. Personally, I'm planning to order a whole cake for a special occasion and dig into all that fresh fruit.
• I'm a little sad I didn't get to try the signature latte (I'm a person who loves a sweet latte most of all!), but when I asked the owner, they said the cream on top of the latte is made to bring out a soft, nutty flavor. Since the cream is the first impression when you drink the signature latte, they said they pay special attention to it!
