Went for a walk around Seoul Forest and just having coffee felt like a waste — I wanted a proper dessert...

How I found Notldun while searching for Seongsu cafés

While looking for cafés around Seongsu, I came across Notldun. It's a dessert café near Seoul Forest, but it felt less like a typical bakery café and more focused on the desserts themselves, which caught my eye. The desserts in the showcase were all so pretty that I spent a while deciding what to order the second I walked in haha.

Why Notldun's spot next to Seoul Forest works

Notldun is right next to Seoul Forest, so it's easy to combine a walk with a café stop. When you're out in Seongsu, hunting for a café to move to can be a hassle, but this spot is perfectly placed for eating, walking around Seoul Forest, and then heading straight for dessert. On a nice day, a loop around Seoul Forest followed by coffee and dessert here sounds perfect haha. Seongsu has plenty of famous cafés, but stepping slightly off the busy main street toward Seoul Forest is a nice option too.

The dessert showcase you see on walking into Notldun

The first thing that grabs your attention at Notldun is definitely the desserts. The showcase is lined with a pretty wide variety — baked goods like madeleines and financiers, mousse-based desserts, mille-feuille, and gâteau. Even if you only came in for coffee, one look at the showcase and you'll end up adding a dessert too, haha! Each piece looked so clean and neat that they'd be fun to photograph as well.

Notldun's signature desserts: Noir and Blanc

If you search Notldun, the menu items that come up most are the Signature Noir and Signature Blanc! The Signature Noir is said to be a milk chocolate mousse with almond praline, whiskey cream, and crispy croustillant. The Signature Blanc is a white chocolate mousse with cassis, pistachio, and croustillant.

Desserts like these have a mix of flavors and textures rather than just being plain sweet cake, so they seemed like a good match for slowly enjoying with coffee haha.

Notldun dessert prices

As of now, prices are roughly: Signature Noir ₩14,000, Signature Blanc ₩14,000. Vanilla Caramel Mille-feuille is ₩13,000, and Pistachio Festival is also about ₩13,000. That said, the dessert lineup can change seasonally, so it's worth checking what's available on the day you visit..!

Madeleines and financiers as a gift box

It seemed like plenty of people come to Notldun not just to eat in the café but also to pick up baked goods as gifts. There's a good variety of madeleines and a financier selection set, so it seems like a nice stop when you need a simple dessert gift in Seongsu. Also good for those small packaged treats you'd bring to a friend's place or to the office as a snack haha.

Notldun as a Seoul Forest date course

Personally, I think it's better to combine a Seoul Forest visit with the surrounding area rather than just going for one café. Walking around Seoul Forest, eating something good, then having coffee at a pretty dessert café can make for a pretty full day >,< Seongsu has so many cafés that it's hard to decide where to go, but if you like dessert, picking somewhere more dessert-focused like Notldun is a good call. It's fun to browse the showcase, there are plenty of photogenic desserts, and it works well whether you're going with a friend or on a Seoul Forest date.

What to know before visiting Notldun

Notldun is located on Seoulsup 2-gil in Seongdong-gu, Seoul, and since store parking is limited, it's a good idea to check nearby parking lots in advance if you're driving. Also, since the dessert menu can change seasonally, if you're going for a specific item, it's worth checking availability on the day.

If you've been walking around Seoul Forest and want something a bit special for dessert, Seoul Forest's Notldun is worth a visit. Especially if you like desserts with layered flavors and textures — mousse, praline, pistachio, mille-feuille — rather than plain cake, it should be fun to browse. On days when coffee alone in Seongsu isn't quite enough, enjoy the dessert too :)
