I looked through every salon portfolio from Jamsil Station to Jamsilsaenae before booking designer Rawon at Only For You Jamsilsaenae Branch. Moving brings all sorts of problems, but finding a new hair salon is a genuinely big one for me.... my whole look depends on my hair, you know....ㅠㅠ

I'd kept a bob for years, but lately I wanted to grow it out, so I got a cheap perm at a neighborhood place — and ended up with an auntie style plus totally fried hair.....

Only For You Jamsilsaenae Branch is a 3–5 minute walk from Exit 4 of Jamsilsaenae Station — go into the alley by the McDonald's building, and it's on the 3rd floor of the Lotteria building across from Sincheon-dong Catholic Church.

The interior was spacious and clean. I'd taken a day off just to avoid getting my hair done tangled up with other people, but honestly this place is fine even on a busy day.

I didn't know this, but they're open until 10pm on weekdays. If you get off work early or take a half-day, you can actually come get your hair done on a weekday?! So great!

I was already drawn in by the bio saying designer Rawon worked in Cheongdam for 9 years before moving here, but,

the portfolio itself was seriously impressive. The precision on bob cuts was on another level, which is why I chose her.

📍 Why I came to this salon: my hair is currently unmanageable and doesn't look good (this was the biggest issue), and I plan to just let it all grow out straight.

Because my hair was so damaged and straightening it at this length would just make it flip out again, she suggested:

• Cut off only the damaged hair
• Cut the damaged hair and add subtle layering with volume magic
• Don't get any treatment at all ▶ you need to grow past this length first

This was the first time a hairdresser told me not to get a treatment.... it really felt like she was consulting for my sake, so I was both surprised and touched.

That said, I did take a day off to come here..... and since I'm growing my hair out anyway, I chose to cut the damaged hair and do volume magic.

She also kept the ends light exactly the way I wanted, and even my bangs — which normally push back and never stay down no matter what — are now staying down in front. I love it so much.

Also, my hair calmed down and my hair condition actually improved(?) Magic straightening applies heat, so it's one of the more damaging perm treatments, but my hair ended up looking healthier.

The cut especially is a work of art. If a bob cut goes wrong, there's no more hair left to fix it with, so it's high-stakes — but this one nailed it on the first try. She said she cut it specifically to be easy for me to manage myself since I struggle with styling, and I nearly cried inside hearing that.

Whether I just let it down or tuck it behind my ears, the face-framing pieces and bangs are layered together in a way that feels very feminine.
