Gyeongui Line Forest Park café for peach soufflé, Hongdae: Think Fruit

In short

Think Fruit is a seasonal fruit dessert café on the first floor of an alley building between Hongik University Station and the Gyeongui Line Forest Park in Mapo, Seoul. After dinner in Hongdae, the writer ordered a peach soufflé, a salted cream coffee and an Americano, and the soufflé took about 10 minutes to arrive. A whole peach, sliced peach, whipped cream and ice cream came on one plate at Think Fruit, and it tasted as good as it looked.

Think Fruit's peach soufflé, the main shot

After eating in Hongdae, I wanted something sweet for dessert, so I went to Think Fruit. I love soufflé, so I'd been looking for a good soufflé spot in Hongdae and came across this café. They sell soufflés made with seasonal fruit, so it's a great place for anyone who loves fruit too.

Where is Think Fruit, and how far is it from Hongik University Station and the Gyeongui Line Forest Park?

Think Fruit's storefront on the ground floor of an alley

Think Fruit is near the Gyeongui Line Forest Park and also fairly close to Hongik University Station, so it was easy to walk to. Going into the alley, the shop is on the ground floor and not hard to find at all. It's a great spot to stop by after a walk along the Gyeongui Line Forest Park, or to pair with other cafés near Hongik University Station.

Inside Think Fruit: seating and atmosphere

Stepping inside, the overall vibe was clean and comfortable.

Think Fruit's clean, tidy interior

There were several tables set up, and a large window made the interior nice and bright.

There were quite a few customers when I visited too — it seemed like a lot of people come specifically for the Hongdae soufflé.

Think Fruit's menu: peach or fig soufflé?

This is the menu at Think Fruit, a Hongdae dessert café :) They sell dessert menus made with seasonal fruit — from soufflés and parfaits to coffee, tea, and seasonal fruit drinks. At the time there were peach and fig soufflés, and peach and fig parfaits. We ordered the peach soufflé, salted cream coffee, and an Americano.

In a fridge on one side, seasonal peaches and figs were on display, looking fresh just to see.

Salted cream coffee and Americano first, soufflé 10 minutes later

We were told the soufflé would take about 10 minutes after ordering, and while we waited, the coffees came out first.

The salted cream coffee had soft cream with a hint of saltiness, so it wasn't too sweet, and it went well with the coffee underneath. The Americano was clean and crisp, which paired well with the sweet dessert.

Think Fruit's peach soufflé: a whole peach on the plate

The peach soufflé arrived and it was gorgeous just to look at. On a large plate, a fluffy soufflé sat with a whole peach placed right on top — it looked incredibly appetizing.

Along with the whole peach, there were also neatly sliced pieces of peach, plus whipped cream and ice cream on the side. I liked that one soufflé let you enjoy several different things together.

Most importantly, since I'd come to Hongdae specifically for a soufflé, the soufflé itself was genuinely delicious. Cutting into it with a fork, it had a fluffy yet soft texture that was moist and easy to eat.

Eating the soufflé with whipped cream added a softer flavor, while pairing it with ice cream brought a cold, sweet touch — each combination felt different. The whole peach on top was just as good to eat as it was to look at. Eating the sliced peach together with the soufflé and cream, the sweet fruit and fluffy soufflé matched really well. I'd wondered if it was just a pretty-looking dessert, but it tasted great too.
