Yeouido IFC Mall tteokbokki with yakimandu, lunch for two
In short
Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is an instant tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cake) restaurant on basement level 2 of IFC Mall in Yeouido, Seoul. Two of us ordered the instant tteokbokki + bong-eomuk (fish cake skewer) x1 + drink set at the kiosk and cooked it at the table, and the best bite was the crisp-outside, soft-inside yakimandu (fried dumplings) dipped in the tteokbokki sauce. The sauce is mild rather than fiery and the portions are generous, making Hyeonseonine an easy lunch stop in Yeouido.

Instant tteokbokki for lunch at Hyeonseonine Premium, B2 of Yeouido IFC Mall

I was trying to figure out what to eat for lunch in Yeouido when I suddenly got a craving for tteokbokki, so I headed to Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch. I'd walked past this place in IFC Mall a few times before, but this was actually my first time eating there haha.

Hyeonseonine Premium IFC Mall Branch is located on the second basement floor of IFC Mall, at 10 Gukjegeumyung-ro, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Being inside IFC Mall makes it convenient to reach from Yeouido Station, and it's also an easy stop if you're out shopping and want a quick meal.
The vibe inside, the self-bar, and even a draft beer machine
The atmosphere inside

Overall, the place had a clean, comfortable snack-restaurant feel. There were tables big enough for two of us, and since we came during lunch hour, quite a few other people were in there eating too.

At the self-bar there were small plates, spoons, chopsticks, cups and more all set out, so we could just grab whatever we needed.

Draft beer, ₩4,500. There was also a separate draft beer machine set up on one side. It caught my eye — a glass of draft beer with tteokbokki sounded like a great pairing. Next time I'll have to try the tteok-maek (tteokbokki + beer combo) 🤤
What we ordered for two: instant tteokbokki + bong-eomuk x1 + drink set
Menu and ordering

We ordered through the kiosk after walking in. Since there were two of us, we went with the instant tteokbokki + bong-eomuk x1 + drink set. There was regular tteokbokki on the menu too, but since it had been a while since our last visit, the instant version felt more appealing than the regular one.
So how was the tteokbokki cooked right at the table?
What we ordered that day

After a short wait, the instant tteokbokki arrived. Since it's cooked right at the table, it comes out with all the ingredients laid in and you gradually bring it to a boil as you eat.

At first, before it started boiling, it looked calm and quiet, but as it slowly began to bubble, the tteokbokki smell rose up and made me want to dig in right away haha.

And you guys, the yakimandu (pan-fried dumplings) were amazing. Crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside, and dipped lightly into the tteokbokki sauce, they were genuinely delicious ㅠㅠ Honestly, out of everything we ate that day, the yakimandu is what stuck with me the most haha. Tteokbokki and yakimandu really is a combo that never fails 🤍

The sauce wasn't too intense, the rice cakes were nice and chewy, and the portion was seriously generous!! ㅠㅠ I wanted to mix leftover rice into the remaining sauce so badly...
And how was the bong-eomuk broth?

The eomuk (fish cake) broth was warm and clean-tasting, which paired well with the tteokbokki. The fish cakes themselves were chewy yet soft, and the broth had a subtle savoriness that kept me spooning up more, bite after bite haha.
If you're in Yeouido craving tteokbokki or a light Korean snack meal — somewhere for a simple, not-too-heavy bite — this place is worth a visit.
