Otter Rabbit House: a brunch café by Woelgwang Waterside Park in Daegu
Otter Rabbit House is a brunch and dessert café at 63 Miriesaem-gil in Dalseo-gu, Daegu. I went looking for a café near Woelgwang Waterside Park where I could have brunch and then relax over coffee and dessert.

It's close to the Sangin-dong area, so it's a good stop after a meal, and it's especially convenient before or after a walk around Woelgwang Waterside Park. Most of all, the café's atmosphere is so pretty that you come in for just a coffee and somehow end up ordering dessert too, haha 😆

It was convenient — you can use the Dowon-dong public parking lot or park near the shop. I found a spot right near the café and could walk straight in, so it wasn't inconvenient at all :) 🚘

Inside Otter Rabbit House: window bar seats and the back-door outdoor tables
Otter Rabbit House has window bar seats, a central group table, and even outdoor seating through the back door. The atmosphere from the entrance was seriously insane... this place is a real vibe king 😳 The entrance alone had such strong character that I took a bunch of photos before even going in. It didn't feel like walking into a café — more like stepping into a whole different space — and it won me over from the very first impression.
And don't even get me started on the inside... the vibe is genuinely wild lol 👍👍👍 I already had high expectations from the entrance, but it was even prettier inside. The overall mood is warm yet sentimental, the kind of place where just sitting there makes you feel good.
The tables by the window are set up bar-style, so it seems like a great spot to sit alone and take your time, and there's a group table in the middle for several people! The tables and chairs are all wood-toned, giving the whole space a warm, cozy feel. But here's the real kicker...! There's outdoor seating too, through the back door!! 🌿
The sunlight pours in generously there, so even a casual snapshot comes out pretty. On a nice day, sitting outside rather than inside and just taking your time sounds amazing. If you're looking for a café with a great atmosphere, this is the kind of place that makes you want to keep taking photos 📸

Castella latte and americano at Otter Rabbit House
Today's order was a basic castella latte, an americano, an egg tart, and a cream apricot pie. Otter Rabbit House's castella latte is a signature menu item and I genuinely recommend it!!!!!! I ordered the basic castella latte, and the soft castella on top pairs so well with the latte — if you like sweet coffee, you'll really love this.

It feels more like a dessert than a regular latte, so it's a good order when you want something a bit more special than plain coffee ☕️

I also ordered an americano to have something clean and simple to drink, and yes, an americano really is the perfect match alongside sweet desserts.

How were the egg tart and cream apricot pie?
I had the egg tart and cream apricot pie together. The egg tart had a style where the crisply baked pastry outside paired nicely with the soft filling inside 🥐🥐🥐

The inside was so soft it was really delicious. It's a dessert that goes well with coffee, so it also matched nicely with the castella latte.

The apricot pie personally caught my eye! The cream comes served separately. The pie part was baked golden brown, so it looked pretty appetizing from the start. The crisp pie and sweet apricot went well together with coffee 🥖

When I go to a café, I usually end up just picking cake or some common dessert, so it was nice to see pie options too. Otter Rabbit House felt like a café for taking your time and enjoying dessert alongside coffee, rather than just grabbing a quick cup.

Who will enjoy Otter Rabbit House most?
It seems especially suited to people visiting Woelgwang Waterside Park who want a café for coffee after a walk, or those in Sangin-dong looking for a brunch café with a great atmosphere. If you love sweet desserts like me, I'd recommend trying the castella latte with an egg tart!
