Yeoju hanwoo restaurant with standout cabbage doenjang soup
In short
Namyeoju Baechu Doenjang-guk Sukseong Gogi-jip is an aged hanwoo (Korean beef) restaurant in Ganam-eup, Yeoju, Gyeonggi, and true to its name it serves cabbage doenjang soup (baechu doenjang-guk) alongside the beef. The order was 500g of hanwoo tenderloin grilled in an iron pan, two servings of hanwoo haejang ramyeon (hangover noodles) for dessert, and the cabbage doenjang soup: the tenderloin was tender and full of flavor, and the soup was the best one I have had anywhere. Namyeoju Baechu Doenjang-guk is an easy stop to add to a Yeoju Outlet or nearby golf course route.

I had a meal planned out toward Yeoju, so I stopped by Namyeoju Baechu Doenjang-guk Sukseong Gogi-jip.

As the name suggests, it's an aged hanwoo (Korean beef) restaurant that serves cabbage doenjang-guk (soybean paste soup) alongside the meat. Let me introduce it!!
Namyeoju Baechu Doenjang-guk hours and what the restaurant feels like
Namyeoju Baechu Doenjang-guk Sukseong Gogi-jip is open Monday through Sunday, 05:30–22:30. It's close to Yeoju Outlet and several golf courses, so it seemed like a good spot for a meal before or after a round, or after shopping.
When I actually visited, there were a lot of people who'd just come from golfing along with local residents, and the whole place had a warm, neighborhood feel.
Hanwoo tenderloin 500g grilled in an iron pan by the staff
That day I ordered the iron-pan hanwoo tenderloin 500g, two servings of hanwoo dessert haejang ramyeon, and also tried the cabbage doenjang-guk. Starting with the tenderloin.

It was nice that they grilled it for us, and grilling in an iron pan instead of a regular grill plate felt different too. The meat seemed to cook up more delicious in the iron pan than on a normal grill.
The tenderloin was tender and soft, with a subtle, deep flavor that came through more the longer you chewed. If you want to really taste the beef itself, the tenderloin suits that well.
Dipped lightly in Maldon salt it tastes clean, and with a bit of wasabi it's refreshing without any greasiness. The pickled perilla leaves are fine plain, but try grilling them briefly and eating them with the meat — the aroma rises subtly, and it was quite a treat too.
Why the cabbage doenjang soup that named the restaurant stuck with me
Surprisingly, what stuck with me most was the cabbage doenjang-guk.

Personally, it's the best cabbage doenjang-guk I've ever had. The sweetness that comes from the cabbage pairs really well with the savory depth of the doenjang.
The natural sweetness that comes out as the cabbage cooks down combines with the deep flavor of the doenjang, and I kept reaching for the broth. It wasn't sharply salty or strong-flavored, so it was easy to have between bites of meat, too.
Once I tasted it, I completely understood why cabbage doenjang-guk made it into the restaurant's name.
Two servings of hanwoo haejang ramyeon to finish the meal
We finished with two servings of hanwoo dessert haejang ramyeon. I really want to recommend this.

After eating beef, there's usually a bit of that rich, fatty feeling left over, but the spicy broth clears it right up. It would go especially well if you'd had a drink with your meal.
It definitely has that hangover-curing quality, but strangely it also makes you want another drink. I honestly wanted to come back just for this haejang ramyeon. Ending the meal with this instead of just stopping after the meat gave the whole thing a much more definite finish.
Does Namyeoju Baechu Doenjang-guk fit a Yeoju Outlet or golf trip?
Namyeoju Baechu Doenjang-guk Sukseong Gogi-jip also works well as a stop after golfing. Finishing a round, then having hanwoo tenderloin with cabbage doenjang-guk and capping it off with the haejang ramyeon would make for a perfect end to the day.
There really were a lot of customers who'd come straight from golfing, so it seemed like a natural pick for anyone looking for somewhere to eat after visiting a nearby course. It should work well for people searching for good restaurants near Geumgang CC or Solmoro CC. It's also worth adding to your route if you're looking for a beef restaurant after visiting Yeoju Outlet.
What I would order on a second visit
What made it fun wasn't just eating hanwoo — the whole process, from the tenderloin grilled in the iron pan to the Maldon salt and wasabi, the lightly grilled pickled perilla leaves, the cabbage doenjang-guk, and finally the haejang ramyeon, made for an enjoyable meal from start to finish. There wasn't really anything I was disappointed by.
The tenderloin was tender and full of flavor, the cabbage doenjang-guk was memorably delicious, and even the final haejang ramyeon was satisfying.
- Iron-pan hanwoo tenderloin 500g
- Cabbage doenjang-guk
- Hanwoo dessert haejang ramyeon
If I go back next time, I think I'll order this same combination again.
