Le Vegie Wang Seongsu — a poke restaurant in Seongsu. I decided to try something I've almost never done in my life. I've gone without breakfast for about a decade now. Time to try brunch.

First, a morning workout is essential to earn it. I rode my bike over and locked it up in front of the shop. There's a parking space in front too, so it works fine by car as well.

It's spacious. Really spacious. It almost feels like walking into a produce market, which is nice for a weekend morning. No need to grab a table first — you just line up to order.

Going meat-heavy this morning. Steak Bowl. 13.2. Oat rice, leafy greens, flat iron steak, sautéed mushrooms, green beans, tomato, hummus, oriental dressing. Nothing but things I love. So naturally, extra steak. 5.5

The steak, cooked medium rare, piled with hummus, felt as filling as dinner. Fresh tomato, well-charred mushrooms and green beans — the best ensemble.

Tomato Shrimp Curry. Oat rice, fried egg, curry, shrimp, lentils, flying fish roe, cream. The base is oat rice — great for health. Egg. Shrimp. Lentils. Flying fish roe. Protein layered on protein — I thought about my health twice over. The creamy texture and flavor of the curry is intriguing. Big shrimp kept showing up throughout, and the texture was fantastic.

Since this was a rare healthy brunch, I skipped soda. Water it is, to hydrate the morning properly. Come with time to spare and enjoy a healthy brunch. A Seongsu poke spot on Yeonmujang-gil, Le Vegie Wang Seongsu.

The full name is Le Vegie Wang Seongsu Space, but I'll just call it Le Vegie Wang Seongsu. King of vegetables. A Yeonmujang-gil spot in Seongsu.

Parking, arriving by bike, and pets at Le Vegie Wang Seongsu Space

There's a dedicated parking space in front — you don't find that often. I chose a bike for exercise and transport, so I locked it up to one side. It felt almost like a country-road vibe.

They said pets are welcome too. I haven't had a pet in a long time, so I went in solo.

What to order: steak bowl with extra steak plus shrimp tomato curry

Le Vegie Wang Seongsu Space has both Korean and English menus. Naturally, I read through the Korean one quickly. Went with the steak bowl plus shrimp tomato curry.

Grocery-store-like interior of the shop

This space, reminiscent of a grocery store, is somehow really cool.

Seating at Le Vegie Wang: plenty of tables even on a weekend morning

There are solo seats, two-person tables, and even wide outdoor-style side tables.

A forkball has been released. Quite the variety of pitches they're throwing. The forkball made Hideo Nomo famous.

Desk-style solo seating

I considered sitting at the desk-like table, but today I decided to stay away from anything study-related.

Napkins held down by a stone weight, next to spoons

Went to grab my tools — a spoon and napkins. The paperweight is shaped like Jjanggu (a cartoon character). I grabbed a few napkins pinned under the Jjanggu weight.

At first glance, a great carb-protein-fat combo for brunch. I'm so happy a poke place like this exists in Seongsu.

Steak bowl with extra steak added

For reference, I added extra steak to the steak bowl. Protein intake in the morning matters.

Shrimp tomato curry: how creamy is it, and how is the oat rice?

Shrimp Tomato Curry. The creaminess stands out. I really love the oat rice — the slightly grainy texture that bursts in your mouth.

Steak doneness and the hummus combination in the steak bowl

The steak was cooked something like medium or medium-rare?

Tomato, hummus, mushrooms. Lightly grilled and just right.

Fried egg and flying fish roe. Practically the perfect protein combo, isn't it?
