Wangsimni roastery bakery café for a coffee date with mom: Eojil In

In short

Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch is a two-floor roastery bakery café right in front of Exit 6 of Wangsimni Station in Seongdong, Seoul. On a Tuesday at 2pm the writer went with her mom and shared matcha Basque cheesecake at 6,900 won, a chocolate milk bowl at 6,900 won, a decaf americano at 5,200 won and an Earl Grey madeleine at 3,500 won, and her coffee-picky mom kept saying how good it was. The wooden chairs are uncomfortable for long sits, but Eojil In is hard to beat for a short catch-up over coffee.

Coffee and dessert spread at Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch

I was looking for somewhere to sit and chat with my mom after lunch, and we ended up at 'Eojil In' near Wangsimni Station — both the coffee and desserts exceeded expectations. The matcha Basque cheesecake was ₩6,900, and my mom ate almost the whole plate herself. She kept saying the coffee was delicious too, so honestly she left more satisfied than I did!

This place was a great Wangsimni Station café bakery for sitting and talking with family or friends after a meal. I went with my mom around 2pm on Tuesday, September 15, 2026.

Where is Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch, and is there parking?

Eojil In Wangsimni Station Branch is right in front of Wangsimni Station Exit 6. Just a heads up — parking is only available for 2 cars.

Exterior of Eojil In in front of Wangsimni Station Exit 6
Eojil In entrance with gold-framed glass door

The gold-framed glass door and checkerboard tile floor really caught my eye as I walked by. There's a '仁 COFFEE' banner on the corner of the building — look for that and you won't get lost. Parking is limited to just 2 spots, so if you're driving, be prepared for it to be full. I walked from the station.

What does the inside of Eojil In look like?

Eojil In is split across the 1st and 2nd floors. Next to the register, there's a display case full of madeleines, financiers, and other baked goods.

Gift box holding 8 baked snacks

There were egg tarts that looked crispy just by looking at them, and a gift box holding 8 baked snacks that seemed perfect for carrying home. It's rarer than you'd think to find a Wangsimni Station café bakery where you can get both good coffee and good baked snacks in one spot, but Eojil In really nailed both.

Lighting and table seating on Eojil In's 2nd floor
Interior of Eojil In's 2nd floor with natural light

The 2nd floor had a bright vibe from pretty lighting and natural light, and there were all kinds of different tables, so it looked fun to pick a seat that matches your mood.

Why is the coffee at Eojil In so good?

Eojil In is a roastery café with its own roasting space on one side of the shop. Since they roast their own beans, the coffee had a balanced flavor — the acidity and nuttiness didn't lean too far either way. When looking for a Wangsimni Station café bakery, there are plenty of places good at bread but few that also nail the coffee.

Cup of decaf americano at Eojil In

I had the decaf americano for ₩5,200, and my mom had a regular americano. She's pretty picky about coffee taste, and she kept saying it was delicious the whole time she was drinking it. The desserts lean sweet, so I'd recommend pairing them with black coffee.

What we ordered at Eojil In

  • Chocolate milk bowl ₩6,900
  • Decaf americano ₩5,200
  • Matcha Basque cheesecake ₩6,900
  • Earl Grey madeleine ₩3,500

What is the chocolate milk bowl?

The chocolate milk bowl (₩6,900) is one of Eojil In's signature menu items. There's a really generous mound of Baekmidang ice cream piled on top — stacked as tall as the glass itself.

Chocolate milk bowl piled high with ice cream

It had a sweet, rich milky flavor that was great to eat spoonful by spoonful even on its own. The chocolate latte underneath had a pretty intense chocolate flavor, and I noticed a tub of Valrhona chocolate in the shop. Since there's also a separate Valrhona chocolate financier on the menu, they seem to use the same ingredient across their chocolate desserts.

How were the matcha Basque cheesecake and Earl Grey madeleine?

These two were the real winners of the day.

On the right is the Earl Grey madeleine, on the left is the matcha Basque cheesecake. There's a layer of dark cookie crumble on the bottom. With the matcha Basque cheesecake, the sweet richness of the cheese hits first, then a distinctive matcha bitterness lingers afterward. My mom said it was truly delicious and cleaned her plate 👍

Plate with matcha Basque cheesecake and Earl Grey madeleine

The Earl Grey madeleine is coated in white chocolate and sprinkled with Earl Grey tea leaves on top. Cut into it, and it's dense and moist inside like this. It's packed with Earl Grey aroma, and the fragrance alone feels worth the price. They say the bakery items are baked fresh in-store every day, and looking at the texture inside the madeleine and how the Basque cheesecake was baked, that quality checks out.

What are the seats like at Eojil In, and can you stay a while?

I'll be honest about this part.

Bookshelf covering one wall at Eojil In

One entire wall is a bookshelf. There are so many books it felt like a small library.

Seating area lit by floor-to-ceiling windows

Natural light streamed in nicely through the floor-to-ceiling windows, so it was bright during the day even without the lights on. That said, the chairs were a bit uncomfortable for sitting a long time. Most are straight-backed wooden chairs, so your back gets sore pretty quickly if you're sitting with a book 🥲

Cushy leather sofa seating at Eojil In

There are, of course, cushy leather sofa seats too. The problem is those seats are usually already taken and don't open up easily. So here's how I'd sum it up: if you're staying for a short chat, any seat is fine, but if you plan to stay a while, it's worth waiting for a sofa seat to open up.

Is there a set time when fresh bread comes out?

This was the most fun part.

Chalkboard at Small Eojil In listing bread times

There's a separate annex called 'Small Eojil In,' and it has a chalkboard listing the times bread comes out.

It notes that timing can shift depending on the day's dough condition, and if you buy bread at Small Eojil In and leave a review, you get a free salt bread — worth keeping in mind. There was also a gift set made of croissants arranged like a cake, and it said to inquire about it at Small Eojil In.

Final thoughts on Eojil In near Wangsimni Station

Finishing lunch with my mom and capping it off with matcha Basque cheesecake made the afternoon feel really full.
