Spicy vs original jajangmyeon at a Sinsa Chinese restaurant: Samsin
In short
Samsin Garosu-gil is a Korean-Japanese-Chinese fusion restaurant on Garosu-gil, about 5 minutes on foot from Sinsa Station in Gangnam, Seoul, filling its whole second and third floors with private rooms. Two diners ordered the Yuni gochu ganjajangmyeon and the Taean hwangto potato jajangmyeon side by side to compare the spicy Korean-style bowl with the classic original, then added a small Tokyo tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) and 3 xiaolongbao for 8,000 won. Spice lovers should pick the Yuni gochu bowl, and the private rooms make Samsin Garosu-gil an easy choice for family gatherings.

Hi everyone, it's Ppungyo!
My boyfriend's been completely obsessed with Chinese food lately, so we've been going around trying places we never used to eat at. This time we visited Samsin, a fusion restaurant near Sinsa Station in Garosu-gil that blends Korean, Japanese, and Chinese food! The jajangmyeon (black bean noodles) and dim sum were amazing, and since it's a private-room restaurant it's great for family gatherings or just a low-key date dinner. Highly recommend 👍
Where is Samsin Garosu-gil, and what are the private rooms like?
Samsin Garosu-gil, a fusion Chinese hotspot, is about a 5-minute walk from Sinsa Station. You can valet park (₩5,000) on the building's first floor, so feel free to bring a car.
Samsin takes up the entire 2nd and 3rd floors, and the exterior really stands out, so it was easy to find.
This is one of the private rooms on the 3rd floor — even the 4-person rooms are pretty roomy, and since they're fully separated, it feels private.
This is the hall seating on the 3rd floor — the tables themselves are huge and elaborate, like a high-end restaurant in mainland China.
This is a table on the 2nd floor. We used it for two people and it was spacious and comfortable.
Honestly the most elaborate tableware I've ever seen at a restaurant.

One thing that stood out — the water wasn't just water, it was tea, and it was really fragrant and delicious..! I forgot to ask what kind it was, haha.
Every table has this little sign, and it gave the feeling that each guest is treated with care — fun to see what the restaurant is going for!
What's on the menu at Samsin Garosu-gil?
Let me show you the menu at Samsin Garosu-gil!

First up is the basic meal menu — jajangmyeon, jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup), fried rice, all Chinese-restaurant staples, but you can tell right away it's fusion, right? Signature dishes like galbi-jjim (braised short rib) jajangmyeon or Tokyo tangsuyuk blend Chinese, Japanese, and Korean food.

This is the course meal and main dish menu — the lunch courses were actually great value too. Mains like tangsuyuk and dim sum are Chinese-based but also had that fusion feel.

We ordered four things total: two jajangmyeon, Tokyo tangsuyuk, and xiaolongbao — all four were so good! 100% would come back.
Yuni gochu ganjajangmyeon vs Taean hwangto potato jajangmyeon
We ordered the potato jajangmyeon and the Yuni ganjajangmyeon — the Yuni version was a bit spicy, more of a Korean style, while the potato one was completely original-style.
For the Yuni gochu ganjajangmyeon, the sauce comes out separately and the staff pour it in right at the table. There's seriously so much onion.

Mixed it all together and the spicy kick was genuinely so good, right up my alley! I'd order the Yuni jajang again for sure, highly recommend.
I also tried the Taean hwangto potato jajangmyeon, and this one is the real, classic original jajangmyeon flavor that people who can't handle spice would love!

It's absolutely packed with potato 🥔 and it's cheap too, so recommended for potato lovers! Personally, since I like spicy food, the Yuni gochu ganjajangmyeon was truly delicious, hehe.
Small Tokyo tangsuyuk: why the sauce has to go on top
Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork) with jajangmyeon is a classic combo, haha. Ordering the small size is perfect for two people.

At first the sauce and the pork come out separately, then the staff pour the sauce right at the table — apparently for Tokyo tangsuyuk, pouring the sauce over (rather than dipping) is essential because the butter needs to melt.
The sauce is super hot, still bubbling even after being poured over the pork. The butter melts slowly and spreads evenly across everything.
There were all kinds of ingredients — wood ear mushroom, pineapple, cucumber, carrot — so the texture was great.
Even though the sauce is poured over, since it's added right before eating, the crispy texture holds up for a surprisingly long time!!
And it's not one of those pork dishes where only the batter is thick and puffy — the meat itself was really substantial and tender. Highly recommend if you like butter flavor!!! So, so good.
Xiaolongbao, 3 pieces for 8,000 won: the side dish to add
Last but not least, xiaolongbao (soup dumplings)! 3 pieces for ₩8,000, great as a light side order.

I ordered it as a side without expecting much, but the dumpling skin was so chewy and the broth inside was incredible.

Dipped in soy sauce it was heavenly... the handmade xiaolongbao is a total must-try, so good.

You're supposed to eat xiaolongbao in one bite for the full experience, but I cut one open to show you the inside. Packed with meat, the thin skin was so chewy, and the broth just gushed out... genuinely so good....♥️♥️
Mango coconut sorbet from the Naver receipt review event
Finally, let me review the sorbet dessert we got from the Naver review event!

If you participate in the Naver receipt review event, you get a sorbet as a light dessert — ours was mango + coconut flavor, refreshing and clean.

You could taste bits of coconut powder throughout — it had a really upscale sorbet flavor.

Even the ending was perfect...♥️ Writing a review is quick and easy, so everyone should try it out.
Who should book a table at Samsin Garosu-gil?
I've been on a Chinese food kick lately, trying places everywhere, and I'm so glad to have found such a delicious spot. Highly recommend for anyone who loves Chinese food but is tired of the same old dishes and wants something more fusion! And since the place is upscale and spacious, it's also a great pick if you're looking for a private-room venue near Sinsa Station for group dinners or family gatherings — big recommend for Samsin Garosu-gil!
