Mugyo-ro dessert café with heart latte art flat white: Lemangdoré
In short
Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun is a three-floor dessert café on Mugyo-ro, between Seoul City Hall and Cheonggyecheon stream. After a walk along the stream, the writer ordered an iced americano (5,500 won), a flat white (6,300 won) and an egg tart: the flat white had fine, silky milk foam with pretty heart latte art, and the egg tart was flaky and full of vanilla bean specks. Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun is a fine choice for a Cheonggyecheon or Gwanghwamun date café.

A Gwanghwamun dessert café, Lemangdoré LES MAINS DOREES

Coffee at Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun after a Cheonggyecheon walk
After walking along Cheonggyecheon stream, I wanted to sit down over coffee and chat, so off to a café we went — and specifically to Lemangdoré, because their coffee is really good!!!!

It's located between Seoul City Hall and Cheonggyecheon, so it's a great spot for a date nearby. The clean white exterior stands out too, so it's easy to find. Perfect for a Cheonggyecheon café date!

How to order at Lemangdoré: kiosk or counter, plus a coffee tasting
Inside Lemangdoré there are two kiosks where you can order, and if you go further in there's also a counter where you can order directly.

The reddish wood and tile interior gives it a warm, cozy, emotional mood. Next to the bread there was even a coffee tasting available. Try it and use it as reference when ordering your coffee!
Ah, of course I had to try this too. I love a good coffee tasting hahaha!!!!
I was already full, but this is a famous Gwanghwamun dessert spot, so I couldn't just walk past. Time to pick one of these delicious breads!!!!

They also sell coffee beans and merch. The coffee is so good I think it'd be nice to buy beans and brew hand-drip at home later. Drip bags would be great to take traveling or for a quick brew at the office.
What each floor of Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun is like, 1F to 3F
Lemangdoré is a fairly large café spread across three floors. Let's go from the first floor up to the third!

1F: order counter and bakery display
On the first floor, dark wood furniture blends with soft orange lighting, so it feels warm and cozy the moment you walk in. Thanks to the calm lighting, it seems like a nice spot to rest for a bit.

2F: seating and restrooms
The second floor has full-length windows looking out onto green trees, with wood tables and chairs — overall it felt relaxed and warm. The 2nd floor had the most tables and chairs, plus outlets scattered throughout, so it looked like the best spot for laptop work.
*There's a women's restroom on the 2nd floor

3F: the top-floor seats
The third floor is furnished with pieces from the Danish furniture brand Fritz Hansen, giving it a slightly cozier feel. Events are occasionally held on the 3rd floor, and group rentals are apparently possible too. Somehow every table and chair up here is just pretty!! It's the most emotional, atmospheric floor, so it was perfect for a date. If you're on a date or just want to sit comfortably and rest, the 3rd floor is the way to go.
*There's a shared restroom on the 3rd floor

With soft lighting and framed art throughout, you can feel Lemangdoré's own emotional mood in every corner. Perfect as a Cheonggyecheon date café, perfect as a Gwanghwamun date café.

I liked how even the staircase felt like it had small thoughtful details.
How the flat white and egg tart tasted

Our order arrived: iced americano (5,500), flat white (6,300) and an egg tart (3,700).

The flat white's milk foam was very fine and smooth. The heart shape was drawn so beautifully that my mood lifted the moment I got it 😍

And the dessert I'm obsessed with lately, the egg tart!!! Look at those visible flaky layers!!!!!! This place is officially a real dessert spot!!! 👍👍👍

Cut in half, the cross-section shows the filling packed all the way through. It's not too sweet, just the right amount of sweetness to pair with coffee. I was already full and only ordered one, but I finished it in no time...!!!! Whew~~ Gwanghwamun's famous dessert spot, Lemangdoré!!!

The egg tart is so good it deserves a close-up! Packed with vanilla bean, you can see the black specks everywhere!! Seriously, seriously delicious.

Is Lemangdoré Gwanghwamun worth it after Cheonggyecheon?
Today's Cheonggyecheon date came with delicious dessert! At Lemangdoré, the americano and hand-drip coffee are both tasty, but I really recommend the flat white!! And if you need something sweet, try the egg tart loaded with vanilla bean too. It'll make your afternoon so happy 🤗
