Seongsu pasta spot with parking and spicy steak risotto: Omil Seongsu

I went with a friend to Omil, a pasta spot in Seongsu! This is the place with the really cute rubber duck, so we'd always been saying let's go, let's go. And since I can get omurice, my absolute favorite, there — that's why I end up going even more often... I think this is already my third visit, and I really hope you get to try it too.

What kind of restaurant is Omil Seongsu?

Omil, which I visited, is a pasta restaurant in Seongsu with all kinds of pasta dishes, but honestly this place has a lot of menu items that bridge Korean and Western food really well, so it's great for visiting with kids and family, and it's also perfect for a date!

Best time to avoid the lunch wait at Omil Seongsu

If you come right at lunchtime, the wait is genuinely long! So if you're a walk-in, visiting a bit before lunchtime or after 1:30pm lets you eat more comfortably.

This kind of thing is what matters most when you're with family, kids, or on a date, haha. Or, you can book through Naver Reservation ahead of time for a more relaxed meal. Also, there are high chairs, so keep that in mind. If you want to eat quickly, visiting a bit before or after lunchtime and having a delicious meal sounds like a good plan.

What comes in the Omil Seongsu set menu?

There are various ways to enjoy this affordable pasta spot in Seongsu, but here they have a set menu, which lets you eat even more affordably.

The set menu is made up of 2 mains, 1 side, and 2 drinks. Getting two drinks is a genuine bonus, and the side, buckwheat soba maki, is really delicious!

Honestly, you can just order à la carte, but the reason to go with the set is that you get to eat generously, like a full course — that was the best part. Prices have really gone up lately so I feel a little burdened every time I eat out, but Omil's set menu is less of a burden while still being plentiful, so I think it's a great spot for gatherings too!

Rubber duck omurice and spicy flat iron steak risotto

I ordered the rubber duck omurice, spicy fan-blade risotto, buckwheat soba maki, and 2 colas — the omurice was sweet and soft, and once the spicy flavor grabs you, it's like your mouth keeps getting hit with that sweet-and-spicy stimulation? And washing it all down with refreshing cola in one gulp completes the perfectly delicious meal.

The rubber duck wearing a tube float is so cute! I thought it was just decoration, but it turns out this cute thing is actually a gift... I think it would make a really cute present when eating with kids, so it seems great for family visits too.

And the spicy fan-blade risotto has a mildly spicy flavor along with cheese, savory yet clean, so it seems like it would pair well with alcohol too. It was also surprisingly filling, which I liked.

Rather than the feel of noodles, the texture and savoriness of the risotto filled my mouth in a really satisfying way.

Buckwheat soba maki even cucumber-haters will eat

And the buckwheat soba maki (buckwheat noodle roll) — a dish where buckwheat noodles and vegetables and Japanese-style rolled egg are combined with Omil's special sauce and rolled up like gimbap (seaweed rice roll). The texture is great, and even though I don't like cucumber, this one is so well-balanced that I actually eat it well, haha. That's how appealing this dish is! Honestly, being able to have this as a side is part of why I keep thinking about Omil.

Even kids who don't eat cucumber can enjoy this happily when eating with family, so I really think you should visit this pasta restaurant in Seongsu at least once. It was so good I basically did the dishes on my way out, haha.

The pickles are placed to the side next to the water and aprons, so you can help yourself whenever you feel like it, haha.

Where to park near Omil Seongsu in Seongsu

Omil, this pasta restaurant tucked into a quiet corner of Seongsu, is easy to reach by car — you can use the public parking lot, and it's surprisingly close, which makes things really convenient!

The only downside is that spots at the public lot aren't easy to find, but I remember it being ₩1,800 per hour, or ₩150 per 5 minutes, at the Seongsu public parking lot. You can have a comfortable meal too, so I think it's worth a visit!
