Korean BBQ buffet near Jamsil Stadium: pre-game lunch at Muhan Paldo

Lunch before a Jamsil Baseball Stadium game at Muhan Paldo Daepae

It had been a while since I'd gone to watch baseball at Jamsil Baseball Stadium! With the game starting at 5, we decided to grab lunch nearby first :) I was craving cold shaved pork belly out of nowhere, and while figuring out where to go, I found Muhan Paldo Daepae Jamsilsaenae Branch!

The Jamsilsaenae branch is closest to Exit 3 of Jamsilsaenae Station on Line 2, and it's open daily from 11:00 to 24:00. Last order is 23:00, just so you know!!

What is pig trotter daepae, found only at Muhan Paldo Daepae?

The unusual menu item you can only taste at Muhan Paldo Daepae...!! Pig trotter daepae — pig's trotter meat sliced paper-thin like shaved pork and grilled. The texture was really unique.

Inside the Jamsilsaenae branch: atmosphere and seating

The place was really spacious! Walking in, there's a long self-serve bar right in the middle, with plenty of seating on both the left and right, so it looked great for groups too!

I didn't expect so many people to eat this much pork belly for lunch~? There was a good variety of meat too — premium frozen pork belly, shaved pork belly, pork neck, beef brisket, and more!

Time limit and what is on the self-serve bar

You order right at your seat, then everything is ready to go — meat, various vegetables, slushies, ramyeon, even bibimbap!! The time limit is 120 minutes on weekdays, 100 minutes on weekends!

The Paldo sauce bar: myeoljeot and makjang

So this is why it's called Paldo Daepae?? It's wild that you can try representative sauces from all eight provinces of Korea at this one restaurant..!! Myeoljeot (fermented anchovy sauce) and makjang (spicy soybean paste) went really well with the meat! I'll have to go back and try the others sometime 🤤

The meat fridge was stacked full. Just pick the cut you want and bring it over!

Free refills of scallion salad and vegetables for grilling

We brought over a bunch of different cuts to grill and try, then kept going back for the good ones. The scallion salad had a tangy, spicy sauce that paired really well with the meat :) I think I ate it nonstop! The grilling vegetable section also had plenty of potato, bracken, and various mushrooms, which was great.

There's something about this thin shaved pork belly... some days you just crave it for no reason? 😂😂 There are days I want it out of nowhere, no idea why!!

Seasoned bean sprouts and kimchi that go well with the meat, grilled up nicely too~! Why are mushrooms so delicious? 🤤

With perilla leaves and pickled radish wraps too, wrapping it up like this means the meat just keeps going in...! Since it's all-you-can-eat, we were busy grilling, eating, grilling, eating, and running back for more the second we finished!

Finishing with self-serve Hangang ramyeon made with beef-flavor noodles

And here's the best part of Muhan Paldo Daepae!!! You can cook Hangang ramyeon whenever you want without ordering it separately! There were plenty of types too — sesame ramyeon, Samyang ramyeon, Jin ramyeon — but I went with nostalgic beef-flavor noodles for old times' sake...!!

Isn't it basically perfect that you can cook Hangang ramyeon right there in the restaurant and eat it with your meat like this~? :) Cold noodles or doenjang stew are nice ways to finish too, but this time I wrapped things up cleanly with ramyeon!!

Maybe it's because we ate so well and cheered so hard? That day Doosan won cleanly, and I felt so, so good — a perfect finish all around!!! Next time before watching baseball, I'll have to come back and eat here again...!! 😂
