Jamsil Stadium bingsu café in outfield section 402: Bingdongdaeng

In short

Bingdongdaeng Premium Bingsu Café is a premium shaved-ice food truck in the food truck zone in front of the first outfield ticket booth on the first-base side of Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Songpa, Seoul. With an elementary-school nephew cheering for Doosan, the writer bought Bingdongdaeng's mango bingsu (shaved ice) and tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), a hot dog from Ippeun Yeou Hotdog and Station's cream shrimp nachos, then ate everything in row 1 of outfield cheering section 402. The milk-ice bingsu paired well with the spicy tteokbokki, and the walk back to the outfield seats was short enough to make it an easy game-day snack run.

Last weekend I went to Jamsil Baseball Stadium with my nephew. I don't really root for any particular team — I just enjoy the atmosphere — but my nephew became a Doosan fan after the first game he watched at Jamsil, once he started elementary school.

While looking for good eats at Jamsil Baseball Stadium, I heard there was a food truck zone, so I checked it out. If you're wondering what to eat before watching a game, consider these food trucks at Jamsil Baseball Stadium!

Where is the food truck zone at Jamsil Baseball Stadium?

The food truck zone at Jamsil Baseball Stadium is close to Exit 5 of Jonghap Undongjang Station (Line 2). As soon as you come out of Exit 5, walk left toward the 1st base entrance and you'll find a variety of food trucks.

Bingdongdaeng's mango bingsu and tteokbokki

First stop was Bingdongdaeng, the answer to all your bingsu (shaved ice) needs. It's located between the Station truck and the hot dog truck.

Bingdongdaeng sells everything from bingsu to Korean snack food. They have four bingsu flavors — snow patbingsu, choco oreo, strawberry, and mango — so I went with my top pick, mango bingsu, and also bought tteokbokki.

A square bowl piled high with mango! Bingdongdaeng's bingsu isn't made with regular shaved ice — it's milk ice, so it's delicious even on its own!

Even though it's frozen mango, it had thawed just enough and the flesh was naturally sweet — so good!

While we were eating the mango bingsu, Doosan hit a home run!!!! Everyone ended up shaking their mango bingsu around while cheering, haha.

I took out the tteokbokki before it got cold, but it turned out to be a bit spicy for an elementary schooler. My cutie alternated bites of tteokbokki and mango bingsu and ate it all up really well! For my taste, the spice level was just right.

Ippeun Yeou Hotdog: the Gyeongju queue favorite now at Jamsil

Ippeun-yeowoo Hotdog food truck at Jamsil Baseball Stadium

Ippeun-yeowoo Hotdog is a place people line up for even in Gyeongju! And here it was, set up as a food truck at Jamsil Baseball Stadium. If you can eat a line-up-worthy menu item while watching baseball at Jamsil, you have to try it right away!

They have 5 types of hot dogs and 3 types of fries, and also sell shake sets. After much deliberation, I went with a hot dog.

Even if you only buy one, it comes neatly packed in a box and plastic wrap.

Watch baseball or eat the hot dog? We sat in row 1 of outfield cheering section 402 to watch the game, and the location was so good.

It's an open box, so it was easy to hold and eat simply while watching the game. There's a whole sausage topped with lettuce, bacon, and a generous pour of corn mayo sauce, piled so high that finishing one might leave you too full for anything else!

Station cream shrimp nachos, a snack made for beer

Station food truck near 1st base at Jamsil Baseball Stadium

Station, the go-to spot near 1st base at Jamsil Baseball Stadium! It's a menu with cream shrimp and nachos together, which seemed perfect as a beer snack, so I tried it.

There's also a menu with pork belly, cubed chicken breast, and konjac noodles, but since I love shrimp, I picked the cream shrimp!

It came packed in a box with a handle, so I could eat it safely and it stayed crispy.

The combination of sweet cream sauce and plump fried shrimp was so good, and with the crispy nachos mixed in, it felt like eating two dishes in one.

The day's ceremonial first pitch: singer Sunmi

Singer Sunmi came for the ceremonial first pitch that day!!! If I'd known, I would've done whatever it took to get closer seats — a bit of a regret, haha.

Sunmi kept getting caught on camera throughout the game, dancing and even performing, which made the whole time even more fun!

Why food trucks work so well for outfield seats at Jamsil

Three food trucks are clustered right next to the outfield entrance at 1st base of Jamsil Baseball Stadium, so it's great not having to go all the way to Jamsil-saenae to buy food. There's nothing to eat in the outfield otherwise, so the food trucks are a lifesaver, and since they're right along the path to the 1st base infield seats, people heading there can grab food easily too.
