If you've wanted proper Japanese-style gyukatsu (beef cutlet) near Yeouido, you've probably heard of this spot — Hurato Sikdang Yeouido. With its tidy Japanese-style setting and clean atmosphere, it's genuinely popular for dates, office lunches, and evening get-togethers alike.

This time I wanted to really taste gyukatsu at its finest, so I ordered two — one for each of us — and enjoyed them properly. Here's everything from the vibe and menu to parking and a few tips for eating it the best way, so save this before you go!
Where is Hurato Sikdang Yeouido, and how do parking and waits work?
Hurato Sikdang Yeouido sits on the 3rd floor of Yeouido Finance Tower, in a location with excellent accessibility. It's close to the subway station, making it easy to reach by public transit, and building parking is available, so driving over isn't a hassle either.

Being a popular spot, waits happen often during lunch and weekend peak hours. If you're planning a visit, I'd recommend securing a table in advance through Naver reservations, or timing your trip slightly off-peak.
Inside Hurato Sikdang Yeouido: atmosphere and seating
Step inside Hurato Sikdang Yeouido and you're greeted by warm wood-toned interiors. What caught my eye was that each table has a small individual brazier neatly set up for grilling the gyukatsu yourself!

It's not overly flashy but tidy and refined, giving off the feel of an actual local Japanese restaurant. Tables are spaced comfortably enough for easy conversation over the meal. With 2-tops, 4-tops, and group seating all available, it's a satisfying setting whether you're on a date, meeting friends, or grabbing lunch with coworkers.

Two gyukatsu, one per person: how the tableside grilling went
Hurato Sikdang has plenty of popular menu items like omurice and rice bowls, but this time I wanted purely the taste of meat, so I ordered two gyukatsu. After a short wait, a neat solo tray of gyukatsu arrives.
- Rare-seared, crisp-outside-tender-inside gyukatsu
- Fluffy steamed rice and warm jangguk (clear soup)
- Fresh cabbage salad
- Signature chili sauce, soy sauce, fresh wasabi, sea salt
- Refreshing seasoned pickled radish

Served as a neat individual tray, it feels quite pampering, and hygiene-wise it was very satisfying too. The gyukatsu arrives with a crisp breaded coating outside but rare and tender inside. You grill it yourself, to your liking, on the griddle plate over a lit solid-fuel brazier.

The sizzling sound and savory meaty aroma as it cooks really gets the appetite going. Being able to grill it yourself to your preferred doneness (medium-rare, medium, etc.) and eat it warm right off the plate is the biggest draw of Hurato Sikdang's gyukatsu. Bite into a well-grilled piece and, behind the crisp coating, the juicy beef flavor fills your mouth.

The meat isn't tough at all — it's tender, and the more you chew, the more savory it gets. With two gyukatsu ordered, the portion was plentiful too, so we could fully enjoy the meat's natural flavor down to the last bite without any regret.
Best sauce combinations for gyukatsu: wasabi, sea salt, soy and chili
Hurato Sikdang serves a variety of sauces and condiments, so it's genuinely fun to switch up the combinations as you eat.

- Fresh wasabi + sea salt: the best combo for tasting the meat's natural flavor most cleanly.
- Signature soy sauce: sweet-savory with a rich umami finish — great for a light dip.
- Chili sauce: adds a bit of spice and tang that cuts through any richness.
- Cabbage salad pairing: eating the crisp, fresh cabbage salad between bites makes it feel more refreshing.
- Tip: if the griddle plate starts burning or the flame weakens, just ask staff — they'll quickly and kindly swap the plate or refuel it.
