Apgujeong course menu restaurant with the Rose Set: Awesome Rose

I've been on the hunt for a place in Garosu-gil with good vibes and good food, and this time I visited Awesome Rose. I'd heard it's a popular spot for dates or blind dates, so I went in expecting a nice atmosphere — and the food ended up being just as satisfying.

From the pasta to the Hanwoo steak, everything was delicious overall, and the photo spot and the little flower gesture felt like this place's own signature. The Hanwoo steak in particular was the best steak I've had in a while, which made this Apgujeong spot really stick in my memory.

Where Awesome Rose is in Apgujeong, and what the room feels like

Awesome Rose is located on the basement floor of 40 Apgujeong-ro 10-gil, Gangnam-gu, Seoul. It's within walking distance from Sinsa Station Exit 8, so it was easy to stop by for a meal while wandering around Garosu-gil.

Walking in, the lighting is soft and the whole place feels calm. It wasn't loud or chaotic at all, so it was easy to sit and talk over a slow meal for two.

I could definitely see why it's a popular spot for Garosu-gil dates or blind dates because of this vibe. Coming in the evening would make the atmosphere even better, so it also seemed like a fitting spot for anniversaries or special occasions.

There was one more thing I found distinctive about Awesome Rose — they had a photo camera set up inside the restaurant. You don't just eat a great meal and leave; you can walk away with a photo too, which seemed like a nice way to make memories on a date.

And if you book through Naver Reservations, they hand you a single fresh rose. A single flower might seem small, but it genuinely lifts your mood when you actually receive one. This kind of small touch felt a bit different from other Garosu-gil restaurants.

Getting a photo taken, receiving a rose, and having a full meal on top of that — it seemed like a pretty memorable combination for anyone looking for an Apgujeong date spot.

Parking at Awesome Rose: valet, 4,000 won for two hours

Driving to Garosu-gil usually means worrying about parking, but Awesome Rose has valet service. There's a valet booth if you go into the alley by the 7-Eleven in front of the restaurant, and it cost ₩4,000 for 2 hours.

There are also nearby public parking lots, but they're a bit of a walk away, so using the valet is probably the easiest option if you want a hassle-free visit. Worth keeping in mind if you're driving to this Apgujeong restaurant.

We ordered the Rose Set.

With this combination, we got to try salad, pasta, and steak all at once, which made for a nice lineup. If you're not sure what to order on your first visit, going with the set seems like a good option.

The rose salad that opens the Rose Set

The first thing we ate was the rose salad, and it was better than I expected.

With fresh vegetables and several ingredients coming together, it didn't feel like a mere side dish next to the mains — it worked well as a dish in its own right.

In particular, having bites of the salad in between the rich cream pasta and steak that followed helped cleanse the palate, so the combination worked really well. It was good from the start, which got me looking forward to what was coming next.

For pasta, I chose the white rose pasta. It's a creamy pasta with shrimp, bacon, and button mushrooms — savory but soft, which was very much my taste.

The owner also told us that mixing in the cheese powder served on the plate makes it even tastier. So I mixed it in as suggested, and the nutty flavor of the cheese definitely deepened the overall taste.

It's a cream pasta, but it wasn't too heavy or cloying — the noodles and sauce worked together so well that I kept going back for more. This is a dish I'd recommend to anyone looking for good pasta in Garosu-gil.

Hanwoo rose steak, the best steak I've had in a long while

The dish that stood out most that day was the Hanwoo rose steak.

Honestly, it was the best steak I've had in a while. The doneness was just right, giving a great contrast between the outside and inside texture, and above all the meat was incredibly tender.

Steak can sometimes come out chewy or overcooked and dry, but here there was none of that — it was juicy and tender all the way through. The flavor of the meat itself was great, so it tasted good even without piling on sauce.

Paired with the grilled vegetables that came alongside, the combination was excellent, and we kept saying how good it was as we ate.

Everything else was great too, but if I come back to Awesome Rose again, this Hanwoo steak is the one I'd order again without hesitation. If you're looking for good food in Apgujeong or a great steak in Gangnam, I'd personally say this dish is a must-try.

Bundaberg ades: pink grapefruit and lemon lime & bitters

For drinks, we ordered one each of the Bundaberg pink grapefruit ade and the Bundaberg lemon lime & bitters. Both were tangy and fizzy, pairing well with rich dishes like the cream pasta and steak.

Sipping them between bites cleansed the palate nicely, making them great to drink alongside the food. The pink grapefruit had that distinct tangy grapefruit flavor, and the lemon lime & bitters was refreshing too — both easy to enjoy without feeling heavy. Next time I'd like to pair the meal with wine as well.

Service at Awesome Rose made the meal better

Just as good as the food was how kind the owner was. He told us how to enjoy the pasta even more and looked after us comfortably throughout the meal, which made for a really pleasant experience.

No matter how good the food is, lukewarm service can make you less eager to come back — but here, both the food and the hospitality were fully satisfying. Even on a first visit, I felt completely at ease throughout the meal.

Why Awesome Rose suits a date or an anniversary

Awesome Rose isn't just about a pretty atmosphere — there were plenty of touches that made the date feel a bit more special. You get a fresh rose with a Naver reservation, and there's a camera to take photos after the meal.

Outside cakes are allowed and there's a corkage perk too, so it seemed like a good option for special occasions like a birthday or anniversary. It seems like a good fit for anyone looking for a Garosu-gil or Apgujeong date spot who doesn't want to compromise on the food.

At Awesome Rose, the food stood out more than the interior

I went in thinking of it as a nice-atmosphere restaurant, but after the visit, it was actually the food that stuck with me most. The rose salad was tasty, the white rose pasta became even more savory once mixed with the cheese powder, and the Hanwoo rose steak in particular was satisfying enough to be, hands down, the best steak I've had in a while.

On top of that, having a photo spot and a rose given with the Naver reservation added a fun layer to the date, and the owner's kindness made the meal enjoyable from start to finish. If you're looking for a Garosu-gil date spot with a nice atmosphere and an Apgujeong restaurant with great food too, Awesome Rose is worth a visit. Next time I go, I'm definitely ordering the Hanwoo rose steak again.
