Loventa Suwon Haenggung is a ring studio on the 3rd floor of a building on Jeongjo-ro 861beon-gil in Haenggung-dong, Suwon. I was looking for something to do in Haenggung-dong and decided to try something a bit special this time — making a ring myself. Since Loventa Suwon Haenggung is right in Haenggung-dong, it was easy to combine ring-making with looking around the neighborhood!

The place I visited was on the 3rd floor of the building, and it wasn't hard to find. These days when you look up things to do in Haenggung-dong you mostly get cafés and restaurants, so making something with my own hands felt refreshingly different.

Walking into Loventa Suwon Haenggung, I found a wide variety of ring samples on display.

From simple designs to three-dimensional, unique ones, there were more styles than I expected, so just browsing was fun!

And the thing I liked most about Loventa was that it's run in a private room!

Instead of doing the experience in the same space as other couples, we got to sit comfortably by ourselves, picking designs and chatting.

Making the ring yourself matters, but honestly, deciding which design to pick is the real challenge, right? Loventa had so many samples that we could compare them one by one and find designs that matched our taste.

I also liked that a couple ring doesn't have to mean matching designs — each of us could pick the style we actually wanted. Since a jewelry designer with 30 years of experience personally designs and inspects each piece, I had high expectations for the final quality too.

They use silver 925, and for designs with stones, they use moissanite instead of cubic zirconia. The price already includes VAT and the stones, which was convenient — no worrying about extra charges while choosing a design.

How does the ring-making class at Loventa work?

After choosing our designs, we got down to actually making the rings. Filing and shaping the ring bit by bit ourselves made me more focused than I expected, haha.

Just watching each other work on our rings and chatting while making them was fun in itself. Rather than simply buying a finished ring, having the memory of making it together means that looking at the ring later will bring back this whole day.

At the end, the rings go through a professional finishing process with polishing and detail work. I liked that the ring I made wasn't just a souvenir-level result — it turned out like real, wearable jewelry.
