After-work lash lift for deep-set eyes in Gongdeok, Seoul: Iyo Shop

My lashes grow out sideways like an eave, so I get a lash lift regularly. It really does make my eyes look bigger and gives them more lift, so I always get it done — and while looking for a good place near my office, I found Iyo Shop! I was going to just get a basic lash lift, but I wanted my eyes to look more defined so I went with the black tinting lift instead.

Where is Iyo Shop, and what are its hours?

Iyo Shop is about a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Gongdeok Station. It's Room 211 in the Park Palace building — to put it simply, past the KPX building, you'll see a building with an Olive Young on the first floor, and the salon is on the 2nd floor, reached by the stairs on the left side of the building. Go through the door near the oriental medicine clinic entrance and Iyo Shop is right there.

Iyo Shop is open from 8am to 9pm. Good timing for after work, and I liked that the last weekday appointment slot is 8pm. Great for when you've worked a bit late and want to sneak in a nap during your lash lift haha. I booked in advance through Naver Reservation for 7pm after work on a weekday. Moisture nutrition lift and black tinting lift are each ₩45,000, and nutrition + black tinting together is ₩50,000. What Iyo Shop looks like inside

The interior was clean and cozy, all in white tones. The door is kept closed — knock and the owner will open it for you. I'd recommend booking ahead through Naver Reservation. Once inside, there's a table for a quick design consultation, and a treatment room separated by a partition wall. It's a one-person salon with a single bed, so it's great for a quiet, solo lash lift or lash extension session in Gongdeok. Since it's in Gongdeok, it also seems perfect for squeezing in during a lunch break!

During the consultation, she carefully asked what kind of curl was possible, what curl I wanted, and whether I'd had a lift before, and checked my eyes from side to side and top to bottom to recommend a curl that suited my eye structure.

Before photo... it's been a little over two months since my last lash lift, so most of the curl had relaxed and my lashes were basically back to natural. My left eye still had a bit of curl left, but my right eye was completely straight.

The owner's hands were so meticulous and gentle that I basically dozed off once the treatment started. So there are no in-progress photos haha. No stinging at all, and the taping was done so carefully that nothing felt uncomfortable. Sometimes tight taping pulls at the skin, but Iyo Shop did it thoroughly and comfortably.

How did the tight curl and black tinting suit deep-set eyes?

Wow~ the result was dramatic haha. After the lift, my eyes genuinely looked wider by exactly the extra length the lashes now reach out to. And with the tinting on top, the lashes look darker, so even without mascara my eyes look clearly defined. This is the real appeal of the black tinting lift, seriously. Not needing mascara also makes doing my makeup so much easier.

For the curl, last time I got a C-curl lift and liked how natural it looked, but it was subtly less obvious that I'd even had a lift, which bugged me a bit — so this time I asked for a tighter curl. But since my eye structure is deep-set, I was worried that too tight a curl would make the lashes touch my eyelids, so I mentioned that, and she picked the right rods to work around it haha.

After the treatment, she also gave me solid aftercare tips, like avoiding washing my face for about 5 hours.
