Cheonan private-room restaurant, 11am opening run and C set: Kkotgeok
In short
Kkotgeok Cheonan Yuryang-dong Branch is a hanok-style Korean restaurant in Cheonan, Chungnam that serves soy-marinated crab and spicy marinated crab made with Yeonpyeong crab. Arriving right at the 11am opening, three of us ordered the Kkotgeok C Set for 80,000 won and the dried corvina set for 30,000 won, a full crab course that finished with crab stew. With group rooms for 8 to 16 people and a separate dog-friendly annex, Kkotgeok works for family gatherings and dog owners alike.

I've been craving ganjang gejang (soy-marinated crab) so badly lately that I started searching for the best soy crab spots, and that's how I found Kkotgeok, a Korean restaurant in Yuryang-dong, Cheonan. I went right when it opened at 11am — here's the opening-rush story.
Where is Kkotgeok Cheonan Yuryang-dong Branch, and is there parking?
Kkotgeok Cheonan Yuryang-dong Branch is at 204 Yuryang-ro, A-dong, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do, and it's open 11:00–21:00, every day of the year. You can park right in front of the restaurant.
- Location: 204 Yuryang-ro, A-dong, Dongnam-gu, Cheonan-si, Chungcheongnam-do
- Hours: 11:00–21:00
- Open every day of the year
- Parking: in front of the store
Kkotgeok is open every single day of the year!!! So you can drop by whenever. The place is clean and upscale, which makes it great for treating guests to a meal. Besides regular seating, there are group tables and private rooms too, so I'd recommend it if you're looking for a private-room restaurant in Cheonan. Parking was easy too since you can pull right into the lot in front of the store.
Inside the hanok-style dining rooms at Kkotgeok
The whole restaurant had an upscale, clean hanok (traditional Korean house) vibe. Fresh domestic crab raised in the waters off Yeonpyeong Island, used for both the soy crab and marinated crab — just thinking about it before eating made me so hungry ㅠㅜ
Once inside, the high ceilings and big windows kept it from feeling cramped, and the tables were spaced well, so it looked great for family meals out. There were baby chairs ready too, so if you're looking for a place to eat out in Cheonan, why not try Kkotgeok haha.
Here's the interior right when we arrived haha. We got there before opening hours so it was completely empty!! By around 11am it filled up with customers. The atmosphere is nice, so a lot of families come to eat out.

Dog-friendly seating in a building separate from the main hall
Kkotgeok has regular dining space, plus a separate area just for guests with dogs. It's in a completely separate building from the main hall, so anyone looking for a dog-friendly restaurant in Cheonan can bring their dog along comfortably.

Just read the dog-friendly usage guidelines and follow them, and you're good to bring your dog! Worth keeping in mind.
Group rooms at Kkotgeok for 8 to 16 people
There were also group rooms. The interior is so nice I thought it'd be great for gatherings — and sure enough, there were rooms! They range from 8-person rooms up to rooms that fit 16, so if you're going as a group, booking a room ahead makes for a private and really pleasant meal.
Every room has windows too, so it doesn't feel stuffy, and the hanok-style interior gave the rooms a nice atmosphere. If you're looking for a private-room restaurant in Cheonan, I'd recommend Kkotgeok!! With Korean food and hanok interiors, it feels perfect for taking out elderly family members.

Kkotgeok menu and prices

The basic Albaegi Set is ₩35,000 per person and comes with Kkotgeok's signature soy crab and marinated crab. But the Kkotgeok Set at ₩80,000 for two looked like the fuller option — on top of the soy crab and marinated crab, you pick one of dried corvina, bossam (boiled pork wraps), or crab stew. We picked crab stew, since we wanted to eat crab properly.
What three people ordered: the C Set plus a dried corvina set
The three of us ordered the Kkotgeok C Set for ₩80,000 and the dried corvina set for ₩30,000. Once you order, they set the table with these neat side dishes along with crab stew, marinated crab, soy crab, and dried corvina. Everything came out so tidy and clean.

Can you see how packed the soy crab is? This is exactly what I was craving ㅠ. What do you all prefer, soy crab or marinated crab, haha? I'm a soy crab person!

The dried corvina looked plump and delicious too. The fish was bigger than I expected — surprised me.

Soy-marinated crab and crab-shell rice with sesame oil or butter
The soy crab I'd been waiting for!!! Just spoon it over white rice — imagine how good that is haha.

Piled on rice, or wrapped in seaweed — you could easily go through two bowls of rice with this.

Mixing rice into the crab shell is a must!!! They give you both sesame oil and butter for it, but personally I preferred the sesame oil.
Yangnyeom crab, the spicy marinated crab at Kkotgeok
The marinated crab was great over white rice too — man, I'd really been craving crab, and coming to Kkotgeok fully satisfied that craving.

Wrapped it in seaweed too and genuinely ate until I was stuffed.
Kkotge-tang, the blue crab stew
I think ordering the crab stew was such a good call!! The broth was spicy and refreshing — exactly what you want when you need something soupy.

There was a whole crab sitting right in the stew. Clean and refreshing crab stew.
Bori gulbi, the dried corvina set

The dried corvina was plump with a lot of flesh too. Pour it over rice in cold green tea water with a piece of the fish on top, and honestly you could make a full meal out of just this haha.
Dessert drinks, takeout, and nationwide shipping

For dessert, they had pomegranate tea, plum tea, and coffee ready, which made for a nice, clean finish. If you enjoyed the crab, note that takeout and shipping are both available.

Soy crab, marinated crab, crab stew, and dried corvina — a full crab-course meal, eaten to my heart's content at Kkotgeok. With its hanok concept and group rooms, I'd recommend Kkotgeok to anyone near Yuryang-dong looking for a private-room restaurant in Cheonan or good Korean food.
