If you want to sort out a meal with a handmade burger near Euljiro 1-ga Station, Daily Fix is worth a look. I stopped by after finishing my Euljiro itinerary. I took in the New York diner-like space, substantial Hanwoo beef patties, and a wide choice of sides all at once.

Getting to Daily Fix from Euljiro 1-ga Station

The restaurant is on the first floor of Fastfive Euljiro, at 24 Namdaemun-ro 9-gil, Jung-gu, Seoul. It is about 128 m from Exit 1-1 of Euljiro 1-ga Station, so the route was not difficult even on a first visit. It also fits neatly into an itinerary around Cheonggyecheon Stream and Seoul City Hall, as well as Myeong-dong, Gwanghwamun, and Jonggak. It is an especially convenient spot when you want to fit in a satisfying meal before or after sightseeing or an exhibition.

Daily Fix Euljiro is open from 11 AM to 10 PM.

Seating with a New York diner feel

Once inside, the yellow booth seats, low lighting, and star-shaped logo catch your eye first. Window seats and tables for two to four people are evenly arranged, so it did not feel daunting whether dining alone or with company. It was bright and lively during the day, and I imagine the New York-style diner mood becomes even clearer in the evening.

The restaurant had a distinctly hip New York-style feel. There seemed to be quite a high proportion of international visitors, and plenty of customers were casually enjoying burgers on their own, so it felt like a perfectly fine place for a solo meal, too.

Hanwoo patty burgers and side dishes

Daily Fix highlights the know-how of chefs with experience at New York’s three-Michelin-star Per Se and two-star Momofuku Ko, along with 100% Hanwoo beef patties made daily. At the kiosk, you can take your time choosing from burgers and sides to milkshakes and alcoholic drinks. It is a lineup well suited to anyone looking for a burger with a genuinely substantial patty.

As you can see on the screen above, the burger selection is incredibly varied. I ordered the double cheeseburger, but if this is your first visit, the bacon cheeseburger is also worth recommending; singer Kang Min-kyung called it delicious and not greasy in a YouTube video. It is a popular item known as Kang Min-kyung’s handmade burger. With handmade bacon that takes more than 100 hours of work and a Hanwoo beef patty, it is probably the most direct way to experience Daily Fix’s character.

For sides, the selection is centered on crispy fried items such as fried eggplant, various types of fries, and onion rings. There are two kinds of coleslaw, original and spicy, and they also sell vegetable sticks with celery and carrots.

Ordering the double cheeseburger and chili cheese fries

That day, I ordered a double cheeseburger, chili cheese fries, veggie sticks, and Sprite Zero. It made for a generous spread across the table, great for two people wanting to share several flavors. The clean finish of the soda also went well with the burgers.

These days, I prefer Sprite to Coke. For reference, drinks at Daily Fix come with unlimited refills.

The double cheeseburger comes with two 100% Hanwoo beef patties, American cheese, and Swiss cheese. The thick patties filled the bun without gaps, with a clear meaty aroma and juiciness, followed naturally by the savory richness of the cheese.

Fries with rich chili sauce

If you are torn over the sides, I recommend the chili cheese fries I ordered. The house-made chili sauce, said to have started with a Mexican roommate’s grandmother’s recipe, is generously piled between the fries, bringing a salty, rich flavor.

Adding ketchup or a dipping sauce can change things up, too. If you want even more crunch, fried eggplant or onion rings—both introduced as popular sides on the official menu—would be good choices next time.

Balance from the veggie sticks

When the burger and fries start to feel heavy, the veggie sticks of carrots and celery restore the balance. Ordering these was an excellent choice! (Very satisfied.) Dipping the cold, crisp vegetables into the smooth sauce refreshed my palate. If you order several items together, I recommend pairing one fried side with one vegetable side.

To sum it up! Daily Fix Euljiro is a good place to take care of both handmade-burger flavor and a central Seoul sightseeing route. It is worth remembering when you are looking for a good Euljiro restaurant, or need a proper meal between stops in Myeong-dong, Cheonggyecheon, and Gwanghwamun. Next time, I will definitely try the bacon cheeseburger famous as Kang Min-kyung’s handmade burger.
