Today I want to introduce a Nampo-dong outdoor BBQ spot in Busan 💛 Once the weather cools down, you have to hit up the outdoor tables (yajang) in Nampo-dong! When people say Busan yajang, Nampo-dong is basically the first place that comes to mind haha. It's the kind of grilled-meat restaurant where you can soak up that outdoor-dining vibe while grilling meat that comes pre-seared, so it's easy to cook, and 800g of pork ribs for ₩40,000-ish means the value is great too 👍 I really enjoyed the full yajang atmosphere and ate so well at 'Bueongi Maeul' (부엉이마을) — let's get into the honest review!

Walking to Bueongi Maeul from Kkangtong Market: the exterior and parking
Bueongi Maeul is near Bupyeong Kkangtong Market (부평깡통시장), so it's a great spot to browse the market and then keep the night going with yajang right after. With the weather turning cool and pleasant lately, I finally made it back to this Nampo-dong yajang spot after a while — perfect for wandering the nearby market, grabbing street food, and finishing off with dinner outdoors 💛

There's no dedicated parking, but there's a public parking lot right in front, so it was convenient to park and walk over 🚗 And since pets are welcome, this seems like a great spot for a Nampo-dong outing with your dog too.
How many outdoor tables does Bueongi Maeul have?
Bueongi Maeul has about six outdoor tables, and there's another shop directly across the street with one more outdoor table. There are also indoor seats! At first I thought the place was smaller than expected, but it turns out there's extra space across the road too. Group visits are possible ⭕️ If you're coming with a group, booking ahead through Naver Reservation makes things much smoother.

True to its reputation as a Nampo-dong yajang spot, it has outdoor seating too. About six outdoor tables! At first I was bummed that the outdoor seats were fully booked, but it turned out there was another shop right across the street. Luckily they had one more outdoor table over there, so we still got the full yajang vibe lolol.
Bueongi Maeul menu and prices

📍 The meat menu covers pork ribs, fresh pork belly, and beef short rib meat. Pork ribs and beef short rib meat can be ordered by the plate, while pork belly can be ordered per serving!
✔️ Pork ribs are ₩42,000 for 800g, and beef short rib meat is ₩48,000 for 400g — generous portions and really good value 👍
There's also an event where the owner's recommended soju gets ₩1,000 off. Soju is basically mandatory with that yajang atmosphere lol.
Side dishes at Bueongi Maeul, including salted pollock roe

As soon as we sat down and ordered, the side dishes were set out quickly! They came out more generous than I expected, with plenty of variety to pair with the meat.

Wild garlic leaves, pickled radish for wraps, pickled hot peppers, and even salted pollock roe (myeongran)! The roe was seriously the highlight for me 🤤 They didn't hold back on the portion either, and eating it with the meat was so good.

Lettuce and wrap greens, scallion salad, and rib sauce — they kept bringing out more pairings to eat with the meat haha.

After a while, we got hit with that Nampo-dong yajang mood again and our spirits totally lifted lolol 🍻 Soju-and-beer really does taste better at yajang. Add in the atmosphere and it just kept going down easy!

Steamed egg also comes standard, fluffy and soft and warm — perfect to eat in between bites of meat.
800g pre-seared pork ribs: why they were easy to grill outdoors
Look at the pork ribs. Since they come pre-seared, you just need to grill them a little more on the plate! Marinated ribs burn fast if you're not careful, but at Bueongi Maeul they come out nicely pre-seared, which makes them both easier to grill and easier to enjoy.

Maybe because it's 800g, but the portion is genuinely huge! It doesn't look like two servings, more like enough for three or four people 👏 The rib marinade, apparently a 40-year recipe, wasn't too sweet or too salty — just the right balance and well soaked into the meat.

Even with cooler weather, grilling meat outside can still get pretty warm. Here, since the meat comes pre-seared once already, you only need to finish it off a bit more on the grill, which made things a lot more comfortable!

Look at those golden-brown ribs — doesn't it look soft and delicious just from the photo? I dipped one piece in just the sauce, and wow, it was so tender with the marinade fully soaked in, sweet and savory in exactly the right balance 💛💛

Pickled radish, wild garlic leaves and pollock roe: the best bite
So many side dishes came out that you could enjoy the meat in a bunch of different ways. Wrapping it in lettuce goes without saying — delicious 🤤 but for me, the combo of pickled radish topped with wild garlic leaves and pollock roe was the best! It's rare to find a BBQ place that even serves pollock roe, and this combination was genuinely a standout.

The tangy, salty flavor of the wild garlic leaves plus the savory saltiness of the pollock roe pair perfectly with the ribs ><

And you know the rib bone itself is delicious too right lolol 🐽 Ribs are all about grabbing the bone and gnawing at it! Holding it with your hands and eating it that way just makes it taste even better haha.
When Bueongi Maeul is worth the trip
After a while, I finally got to soak up that Nampo-dong yajang feeling again and eat pork ribs until I was completely full 💛 Grilling meat outdoors in cool weather sets a great mood, and the soju-beer mix just kept flowing~~ Being right near Kkangtong Market means you can pair it with market browsing or street food before or after your meal. If you're craving outdoor grilled meat on a cool evening, keep this in mind next time you're searching for a Busan yajang spot, Nampo-dong yajang, or a restaurant near Bupyeong Kkangtong Market ✨
