I had a sweet latte in the morning and by lunchtime I was craving something spicy and Korean, so I went to a place famous as a solo-dining spot for Korean food in Ingye-dong and had a properly spicy meal.

I loved that you can choose your spice level to taste, and beyond the usual soup you can also get it with udon noodles — the pork bone udon haejangguk (hangover soup) lets you enjoy udon noodles too, which was such a nice touch.

My stomach was pretty greasy, so I ordered the spicy flavor and went with the slightly special udon noodle option.

Just by looking at it, the pork bone haejangguk looked spicy and stomach-settling, and the broth was genuinely refreshing and delicious.

It was packed with plump, chewy udon noodles that soaked up the spicy broth beautifully, making it even more delicious to eat — absolute jackpot.

The backbone was loaded with meat too, so I could properly get my protein in — a healthy, hearty solo Korean meal in Ingye-dong that made me so happy.
