Cheonan café madeleine cross-section test, 3 flavors: Brewers Coffee

A review after trying the lemon, salted choco chip, and crème brûlée madeleines, plus an Earl Grey financier and raspberry milk from Brewers Coffee in Sinbu-dong, Cheonan. Prices, cross-sections, and dessert details, all with photos.

While looking for a café in Sinbu-dong, Cheonan, I ended up at Brewers Coffee Cheonan Sinbu Branch!

I'd been curious about their baked goods, so I took my time looking around. I meant to just grab a coffee and leave, but even before going in, the exterior caught my eye and I thought there'd be a lot to see — and ended up taking desserts home too, haha.

Where is Brewers Coffee Cheonan Sinbu Branch, and its hours and parking

Brewers Coffee Cheonan Sinbu Branch is located at 충청남도 천안시 동남구 먹거리9길 20, open daily from 12:00 to 21:00. Last order is at 20:30, and there's no dedicated parking lot, so you'll need to use a nearby public parking lot.

The exterior is black with big windows, and there are outdoor tables set up in front. It's fairly close to Cheonan Shinsegae Department Store, so it's a decent spot to reach on foot too!

Next to the entrance was a poster for walnut caramel ice cream — I'd only had coffee on my mind, but seeing that made me waver a bit, haha. Maybe I'll try the ice cream next time //

What the menu and the room look like at Brewers Coffee

The menu board at Brewers Coffee Cheonan Sinbu Branch was divided into several coffee and non-coffee categories, with signature menu items marked separately.

From familiar items like americano and latte to fruit drinks and non-coffee options, there was plenty to choose from depending on your taste, haha.

Once inside, small pictures and framed art hung on every wall, and there was a short phrase written on one side too. The space felt more like a studio than just a room full of tables, and it was fun to look around!

The inner wall is decorated with white brick, and the Brewers logo hangs in the middle.

Each frame nearby had a different shape too, so even sitting at a table you'd find yourself glancing at the walls again and again, haha.

Near the entrance, one frame was just leaning against the floor — this sense of filling even a narrow space with art rather than leaving it empty... it's the kind of detail that quietly stuck with me, haha.

Seating is mostly wooden tables and chairs, with sunlight coming in by the windows. There were quite a few guests seated that day, but the tables weren't cramped, and it seemed like a good spot to chat with a friend!

What baked goods fill the display case

Now for the desserts — up top in the display case were the madeleines.

From salted chocolate coffee madeleines to pecan espresso madeleines, even just reading the names made for fun combinations, haha. Below were rows of financiers, plus vanilla flan and crème brûlée flan. Next to those sat canelés in different flavors, making it hard to pick just one. In the end, we scooped up a bunch ^^ (my husband did..!!)

Raspberry milk and how the takeout is packed

Today I didn't eat at the café — I packed the drinks and desserts to go instead.

Raspberry milk! A pale pink drink with tiny raspberry pieces visible inside. It came in a black cup with the Brewers Coffee logo, so it looked quite nice even as a takeout. Since everything I ordered that day was on the sweeter side, this was a good drink to sip between bites.

Back home, I looked at the takeout bag first! It was black with 'handmade dessert' printed on it in big letters, and since I didn't know exactly what was inside — I was already looking forward to opening it, haha.

Each item was individually wrapped in white paper, which made it easy to transfer onto a plate. The café's name was printed on the wrapping too, so even taking the desserts out felt like a pretty thoughtful process. Ta-da!!

Once plated, each piece had a slightly different shape and color. Some had a glossy sheen on the outside, and others had crunchy toppings, so the plate looked pretty full and varied!

Three madeleines cut in half: a side-by-side comparison

🍋 Lemon madeleine, 3,300 won

The Brewers Coffee lemon madeleine is ₩3,300. First up was the lemon madeleine! It had a thin glaze coating on the outside, and cutting into it revealed a moist, yellow-tinted crumb inside.

Little pieces that looked like lemon peel were dotted right in the center, so it looked different from a basic madeleine right away. With the sweet glaze added on top too, this is one to watch for if you like bright, citrusy desserts.

🍫 Salted choco chip madeleine, 3,600 won

The salted choco chip madeleine is ₩3,600, and this one looked the heaviest right from the start. It had a glaze coating on the outside, with big chocolate chips visibly poking out on the sides.

Cutting it in half, the inside was fairly thick and dense. The chocolate chips weren't just stuck on the surface — you could see chocolate running through the cross-section too. If you're in the mood for something rich and chocolatey rather than citrusy, this is the one to pick.

🍊 Crème brûlée madeleine, 3,600 won

The crème brûlée madeleine is also ₩3,600. Out of the four, this one stood out the most just by looking at it.

The top was deeply caramelized, giving it a clearly different look from the other madeleines.

Cut open, the deep brown outer layer contrasted sharply with the yellow madeleine crumb inside. Even in photos, the top had a glossy sheen, and that classic crème brûlée caramelized look really came through.

🫖 Earl Grey financier, 3,500 won

The Earl Grey financier is ₩3,500. I didn't just get madeleines — I picked this one too.

Cutting it in half revealed tiny specks that looked like tea leaves dotted throughout, and compared to the madeleines, the cross-section looked a bit denser and heavier. The outside was baked to a deep color, and the top had a golden-brown tone, so just visually it was clearly distinct from the other three items.

Is Brewers Coffee in Sinbu-dong, Cheonan worth a takeout run?

From the fun of browsing to the fun of picking what to eat — Brewers Coffee in Sinbu-dong, Cheonan is hard to pass up if you love dessert!

Brewers Coffee Cheonan Sinbu Branch was a place where you could enjoy browsing baked goods along with your coffee. The frames and packaging throughout the store left an impression too, and taking everything home to eat slowly was a nice experience, haha. Just one thing — if you're driving, plan ahead for the nearby public parking lot!! I tried a bunch of baked goods this time, so next time I'll sit in and enjoy a drink slowly, haha ^^
