Han River yacht tour at sunset in Seoul: Sailing Paradise

In short

Sailing Paradise is a yacht tour experience on the Han River in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. Boarding at 7 PM, I enjoyed wine, snacks, and music while taking in the Han River Bridge and Banpo Bridge views for about 1.5 hours. A memorable choice for a Seoul date that feels different from the usual.

An evening boarding with both sunset and night views

I wanted to spend a slightly different kind of time over the weekend, so I went on a Han River yacht tour in Seoul. I have visited the Han River often, but it was my first time looking around it from a yacht. To give you the conclusion first, it was much more relaxing and atmospheric than I expected, and I enjoyed it without noticing the time pass :)

The place I used was Sailing Paradise. Boarding was at 7 PM, right as the sun was starting to set, so I loved that we could see both the sunset and the night view.

After arriving at the dock, filling out the boarding manifest, and receiving instructions, I headed over to the yacht.

Walking from the dock to the yacht

Up close, the yacht was much bigger than I expected. I had only ever seen yachts from afar and thought of them as small boats, but once I stepped aboard, it felt like a whole house floating on the water.

A lovely atmosphere on board before departure

After the captain gave us instructions, we took our seats, and wine and snacks were set out for us too. They even played music, so the atmosphere was already really nice before we departed.

With the Han River breeze, music I liked, and a glass of wine, it somehow felt like I was traveling, haha.

Once we set off, I was so busy taking photos. At first it felt as though we were moving slowly, but then I noticed the scenery around us constantly changing and realized we were going faster than I thought.

If a sightseeing cruise is like a bus, would a yacht be like a car? It felt much lighter and more nimble.

Sunset and bridge views from the Han River

I went expecting a Seoul night-view Han River yacht tour, but the sunset scenery before the sun went down completely was truly beautiful too. I happened to wear glasses that day, and maybe because they had photochromic lenses, the world I was looking at felt almost like a Studio Ghibli scene, lol.

The sky kept changing color, the waves sparkled, and a cool breeze was blowing, so just sitting still put me in a good mood 🤍

From the yacht, I could see sightseeing boats, little boats passing by, and trains crossing over the bridge. They are scenes I would normally just pass by, but seeing them from the water felt completely different.

I think we passed the Han River Bridge and went as far as the direction of Banpo Bridge. At first I was so busy taking pictures that I did not realize it, but later I saw that we had come quite a long way. That made it even more fun.

The atmosphere was especially nice when we passed beneath the railway bridge. As the yacht went under that huge structure, it somehow felt like a scene from a movie.

As the sun gradually lowered and the bridge lights came on one by one, the view kept changing, and I could not take my eyes off it.

And the most memorable thing that day was, of course, the sunset. Watching the red-tinted sun slowly descend from the middle of the Han River made me feel as if time had briefly stopped. Usually I am busy looking at my phone and worrying about this and that, but in that moment, I simply listened to the waves and looked at the view.

Seoul night views after the sun went down

After the sun set, it was time for the night views in earnest. The lights in the high-rise apartments and buildings along the river came on one by one, and their reflections on the water were beautiful too.

The captain also explained the surroundings and pointed out which places were famous, which made looking around even more fun. Seeing the impressive apartments along the Han River and Seoul's cityscape made me feel like a tourist, haha.

Spacious interiors and a 1.5-hour cruise

The facilities were cleaner than I expected, and the yacht interior was fairly spacious too. There was space to take a simple break or put down belongings, and I was surprised to hear that overnight stays were possible. They said you can cook food on the yacht too, so it really did seem like a tiny house.

We cruised for about an hour and a half, but it felt much shorter. Seeing both the sunset and the night view, gliding slowly along the Han River, and listening to music made me understand why people often choose this for a Han River yacht tour date.

For anyone who wants to make a special memory in Seoul or try a date different from the usual, a Seoul Han River yacht tour could be a nice choice.

A relaxing yacht experience looking out over the Han River

It was a day of healing for me too, looking out at the Han River at a relaxed pace for the first time in a while. Next time, I would like to ride again when the season changes :)
