Suwon restaurant for carbonara and apricot milk tea: Nonchalant Lounge

I came to Haenggung-dong with a friend for pasta ❤️ I wasn't expecting much, but it was soooooo much better than expected that we totally overate. Still, this was the kind of place where being full doesn't hurt—it makes you happy.

I went to a seriously insane (p) great restaurant while I was in Haenggung-dong this time. I was so surprised that every single menu item could be this good ; Next time I'm in Haenggung-dong, I seriously have to come back with my girlfriend ㅠ A Haenggung-dong pasta spot I want to keep to myself: Nonchalant Lounge..

A Haenggung-dong Western restaurant you can visit with kids

Here's the exterior! For reference, they have baby chairs and children's chairs ready. It is a Western restaurant, but there were lots of families dining together too, haha. I visited on a weekend, and reservations are available, so I recommend making one.

The interior is really spacious! There were quite a few guests even though it is roomy, so I took this when it had cleared out a bit.

All the little objects tucked around the space have such a nice-vibes aesthetic. It is a great Haenggung-dong pasta restaurant, and the atmosphere is great too. A lovely Western restaurant with a great mood, and a good place to bring kids!! I'm coming back..

A place that serves ice water. Instant huge points. .. Honestly, maybe this was when I fell in love with Nonchalant Lounge, the Haenggung-dong pasta spot.. There were so many delicious-looking menu items that we agonized over what to order.

Iced apricot milk tea that surprised even a milk-tea hater

We ordered iced apricot milk tea with ice cream, and wow.. I don't really like milk tea, you know..? But the sweet apricot flavor and smooth milk-tea flavor came together, and from the very first sip I was like, “What is this flavor..?!” Seriously, I had never tasted anything like it in my life, and it was ridiculously good ; My friend said it was so good too. Even milk-tea haters can enjoy this?

They give you one big scoop of ice cream. It is delicious on its own, and it is also a total treat with the milk tea. Please, even if you forget me, don't forget the iced apricot milk tea at Nonchalant Lounge, the Haenggung-dong pasta spot.

Classic carbonara we finished, starting with the salad

Ricotta cheese salad. Wow.. we seriously left none. Hahahaha. It had Shine Muscat grapes, chicory, ricotta cheese, and vegetables, and I realized for the first time that ricotta could be this delicious. It was slightly sweet and nutty, and went so well with the dressing and vegetables.

The classic carbonara shocked me when I tried it. My life is divided into before and after eating carbonara at this Haenggung-dong pasta restaurant..

The bacon comes in whole pieces, so even while eating pasta, you can taste the flavor of the thick-cut bacon. Don't think, “Here they go raving again~.” Seriously. Hear me out. I've never been to a Western restaurant as good as this one. The sauce soaked into the noodles in this rich, clingy way, and the flavor was just insane; the bacon was salty and nutty, the carbonara was unbelievably rich, and it was salty in the best way—you just keep eating.

I haven't tasted anything like this even at Western restaurants with Michelin stars. For real, I could eat it forever. Wow.. Honestly, this cream pasta was soooo good that I added this to my list of Haenggung-dong places I want to keep to myself, plus Western restaurants I will revisit on my own dime. My dining companion said it was really delicious too. No lie.

Even the pickles were somehow this clean and crisp..

Tender chuck flap steak platter

Chuck flap steak platter. Ah.. honestly, I thought it would be ordinary. But even this was delicious..;;

The roasted tomatoes, mushrooms, asparagus, chuck flap steak, and butter galbi sauce in this were all!!!!!!! delicious. The meat was not tough at all, just tender and insanely good, and my companion kept saying, what did they do to this butter galbi sauce? It is so good and amazing.

To be honest, steak at a Western restaurant can make you hesitate, wondering, “Will it be tough?” “Will the quality be bad..?” But I swear on my fingers, this was not tough at all. It was just insanely, unbelievably good—I want to keep it to myself. This was the best Western restaurant I visited this year. The seasoning was just right, and because it came with Maldon salt, it was not overly salty while still delivering a totally incredible flavor. Seriously.. what am I supposed to do when even the sides are this good?

Haha, proof of how good it was. I thought showing you this would be better than just saying it was delicious over and over, so here is proof that we finished everything ;; Neither of us eats a huge amount, so before we started, we said we probably wouldn't finish it all. But seriously, it was so unbelievably delicious that we left nothing.. For real, it is a Haenggung-dong gem I want to keep to myself. A Western restaurant you won't regret. Ah, I have to bring my girlfriend back ㅜㅜㅜ
