Today I'm introducing a sandwich place. You might think sandwiches are all pretty much the same, right? Nope. I'm a serious bread lover and this one was genuinely delicious. This is a place whose signage always caught my eye every time I walked by.

'We're good at coffee, but even better at sandwiches!' Pretty confident statement, haha. But once I tried it, the sign wasn't just for show. Seeing a line like that made me curious enough to try it — I stopped by after a run when I happened to pass nearby. There are days after exercising when you suddenly crave something that feels both healthy and filling, and this was exactly that kind of day.

I stopped by after running through the Jamsil area, and since it was quite hot that day I headed inside. Town Sandwich Jamsil Branch has plenty of seating that works well for eating alone, and on nice days the outdoor seats look great for a simple meal while catching some breeze. The atmosphere felt easy enough for grabbing a sandwich and coffee solo, so it'd be a good option for anyone looking for a solo dining spot nearby.

What we ordered at Town Sandwich: basil jambon-beurre, egg bánh mì and the all-in-one soup set

The menu ranges from jambon-beurre to bánh mì to various sandwiches, so we debated a bit before ordering basil jambon-beurre and egg bánh mì. We also added soup by ordering one as the all-in-one set. Jambon-beurre is honestly one of my favorite things, so my eyes naturally go there whenever I visit a sandwich shop. Here they had a basil version instead of the classic jambon-beurre, so that decided it right away.

What excited me most was that they make even the baguette in-house. When a sandwich shop makes its own bread, expectations naturally go up, haha. Sandwiches usually have so many fillings that the flavor you notice most is the contents, but personally the sandwich shops that stick with me are the ones where the bread itself is good. Town Sandwich Jamsil Branch turned out to be exactly that kind of place.

How is the basil jambon-beurre? Piled with rocket, with the bread still shining

First off, the visuals alone show how generously it's stuffed.

The basil jambon-beurre was loaded with rocket, which I loved. The combination of jambon and basil worked great, and above all, you could really taste the bread itself with every bite. Eating it, I kept wondering — is it the filling that's delicious, or the bread? Maybe it's both. We also ordered coffee, and it had that nutty style I love — right up my alley ☕️. Between the sandwich and the coffee, my post-run hunger was thoroughly satisfied.

How does the egg bánh mì taste? Comparing the two sandwiches

The egg bánh mì was also packed full, so every bite delivered the filling properly. It didn't feel like a sandwich piled high with too many ingredients just for the sake of it — instead, the bread and fillings felt well balanced together. Eating the two menus back and forth, one felt plain and nutty while the other had the aroma of basil and rocket coming through, so each had its own distinct charm.

The all-in-one set soup and the verdict on Town Sandwich Jamsil Branch

The soup that came with the set was also quite good — it stayed warm from the moment it arrived until the last spoonful. Dipping the bread into the warm soup turned out to be a nice little treat. If you're looking for a place in Jamsil where you can eat light but still feel properly fed, I'd recommend Town Sandwich Jamsil Branch. It's been a while since I ate just one sandwich and remembered the place specifically for the bread, haha. Would 100% go back.
