I searched for a while today because I wanted to grab brunch with a friend!! I'd heard Daegu has some famous brunch spots, so we went to Baut, a brunch café near Dongdaegu Station. Let's start the review.

Where is Baut and how do you get there?

Baut, the Dongdaegu Station brunch café, is located at 18 Dongbu-ro 26-gil, Dong-gu, Daegu. It's within walking distance of the Shinsegae Department Store by Dongdaegu Station, which was convenient. Seems like a good idea to grab brunch and then go shopping at Shinsegae.

The exterior of Baut

The blue door stood out from the outside, so it was easy to find. Baut is a three-story building, so it's actually a fairly large place.

Inside Baut: table spacing and third-floor seating

Once inside, I felt a clean yet stylish atmosphere.

Each floor had a variety of tables and seats, and best of all, the spacing between tables was generous.

Widely spaced table seating at Baut

When you're too close to the next table it's stressful to talk, but here the space was relaxed enough that my friend and I could chat comfortably.

On the third floor there were also big tables where several people could sit together, so it looked good for friend gatherings or small group meetups too.

It's hard to find a Dongdaegu Station brunch café with such wide, relaxed seating, so I was satisfied with the space at Baut, a Sincheon-dong sandwich spot.

How does the daepa jambon sandwich taste?

Baut's daepa jambon sandwich made on a baguette

The daepa jambon sandwich is a baguette sandwich with green onion dressing, arugula, onion, sultanas, and jambon (ham). The combination sounded unusual just from the name, so I was curious, but it worked better than expected. The baguette was crispy outside and chewy inside, and the salty jambon paired with the green onion's aroma and gentle sweetness for great flavor.

The arugula cut through any greasiness too, so it was easy to eat all the way through without feeling heavy. My friend raved that it had been a while since she'd had such a good sandwich place, and I felt very proud for finding this Sincheon-dong sandwich spot!

What is the focaccia sandwich like?

The focaccia sandwich has tomato pesto, red onion, salami, cheese, and arugula on focaccia bread.

The soft, chewy focaccia went well with the rich tomato pesto and the saltiness of the salami and cheese. The red onion and arugula kept the overall flavor from feeling too heavy, finishing things off with a refreshing note.

Both sandwiches were generously filled, so they were satisfying enough for brunch. The Americano was clean and paired well with the sandwiches, and the caffe latte was nutty and nice to sip alongside them.

Is Baut worth it for brunch near Dongdaegu Station?

Overall, Baut, the Dongdaegu Station brunch café, felt more like a place to slowly enjoy sandwiches with coffee than a spot just for a quick cup. With seating spread across three floors and generous table spacing, it was easy to talk and also seemed like a good fit for group visits.

If you're looking for a Dongdaegu Station brunch café with a variety of sandwiches and plenty of space, Baut is worth a visit. I'd like to try their other sandwich options next time. Confirmed as a great Sincheon-dong sandwich spot! I'm definitely going back~~~~~!!!!
