Why I chose a Yeouido Han River yacht tour over a cruise

A glass of wine on the Han River as the sunset spreads—can a private yacht tour really be this healing?
Recommended for
- Couples looking for a Yeouido date itinerary
- Future grooms considering a Seoul proposal venue
- Anyone wanting something special for a family outing
- Travelers looking for Seoul night-view spots
- Anyone planning a birthday or anniversary event
I found Sailing Paradise while looking for a Yeouido date idea! I had taken Han River cruises before, but this time I went for a yacht experience.
Having done both, here is how they differ: cruises are easier to access and a little cheaper, but with so many people onboard, it is hard to expect a private atmosphere, and their operating time is relatively short.
Sailing Paradise's Han River yacht tour, on the other hand, works with small groups—even just two people—so it is a much better fit when you want to create a special moment, such as a Seoul proposal or anniversary.
Parking and public transport to Sailing Paradise
It is right in front of Yeouido Hangang Park Parking Lot 1. From Yeouinaru Station on Line 5, take Exit 3 and walk for about 15 minutes.
If you are using Daebang Station on Line 1, take Exit 6, catch circular bus 62, get off at the 63 Building stop, and walk for under 3 minutes. You can also get off at the 63 Building stop on trunk buses 261 and 362, branch buses 5633, 7611, and 5232, circular bus 62, or express bus 9409, then walk about 5 minutes toward Hangang Citizens Park.
I drove and simply searched “Sailing Paradise” in the T Map navigation app. It directed me straight to Yeouido Hangang Park Parking Lot 1, right in front. The boarding point is directly in front of Lot 1, so I recommend parking as close as possible.
Han River yacht experience prices and included service

Sailing Paradise prices vary by group size and yacht type. Private tours run from several hundred thousand won to over ₩1 million, while public yacht tours for adults cost between ₩30,000 and ₩50,000 per person.
Public yacht tours include wine and cookies at no extra cost. With an hour onboard plus snacks, it felt quite reasonable for what it was.
Getting ready at the office before boarding

Cross from the parking lot straight toward the Han River and you will see the riverside marina, with E-Mart24 and BHC among the businesses there. Go into the marina and head right to find the Sailing Paradise office. That is where they confirm your reservation and get you ready to board.
After filling out the boarding list, I waited at the table in front,

then the owner came out and led us to the yacht. The marina where the yachts were moored came into view. I was a little nervous at first—after all, it is not every day that you ride a yacht.
The owner personally guided us through boarding, and the explanation was concise and kind, so I relaxed quickly. Sailing Paradise operates several yacht sizes, including 10-, 12-, 28-, and 48-passenger boats.
If passenger numbers drop to five or fewer three hours before boarding, the tour is automatically cancelled. Our booking had not been cancelled, but the other family originally meant to ride with us cancelled, so we ended up with the yacht just to ourselves. Lucky Vicky, you know~
Sunset and early night views with a 7 pm booking

Our booking was at 7 pm, and that timing was such a brilliant move. It was still bright when the yacht set off; as we got farther along, Seoul's sky slowly turned sunset-colored; and by the end, we even had early night views.
Seeing daytime, sunset, and night views all in one yacht experience was amazing, so I definitely recommend booking around sunset.

Tips for taking photos on the yacht
Do not forget to take photos on the yacht! For an amazing, once-in-a-lifetime shot, sit at the bow looking up at the sky, or lie on the netting—it gives such a great vibe! I thought photos looked prettier where the bridge was not visible. And it is even better if the National Assembly Building appears beside you, haha.
The yacht has a JBL speaker, so we connected via Bluetooth and played the music we wanted. The owner only handled the boat and left the rest as completely our time together, which I appreciated. Haha, I think it let us focus even more on the yacht and the Han River.

The wine and cookies were free too, and it is hard to put into words how it feels to have a glass of wine while looking out over the Han River from a yacht. It was simply lovely. The hour disappeared so quickly I barely knew where it went.
The sky was truly beautiful as it turned toward sunset. Watching the lights come on one by one at the 63 Building and along the Han River bridges from the yacht deck naturally made me gasp.

What I loved and what to keep in mind
What I loved
- Wine and cookies were included for free, so there was no extra cost to worry about.
- We could play the music we wanted through the JBL speaker.
- The tours run at times when you can enjoy both sunset and night views.
- The owner was kind and considerate throughout.
What to keep in mind
Boarding can be cancelled if there are too few passengers, so make sure to check ahead.
Overall, it was such a high-quality experience that I immediately thought I absolutely had to come back with my parents someday. The atmosphere becomes romantic all by itself, so I highly recommend it as a Yeouido date course! Especially if you are planning a proposal, I think a private yacht would be wonderful.
This was my first Yeouido Han River yacht tour, and it was an intimate date experience with a completely different feel from a cruise. I would recommend it not only for couples, but also for proposals, family outings, and anniversaries. Next time, I plan to return with my parents.
