Songjeong café for lemon sunset drinks: Suwolgyeonghwa, Busan

A hanok-inspired café right by Songjeong Beach

As someone from Busan, I actually haven’t been to Songjeong as often as you might think. I decided it was time to visit somewhere I hadn’t been in a while, and heard there was a Korean-style café here, so I came by. Suwolgyeonghwa (수월경화) is right in front of Songjeong Beach. It’s a lovely place to stop for a little rest and healing after looking out at the sea.

Let me show you the overall atmosphere first.

Parking and the walk up to the fourth floor

You can park in front of Suwolgyeonghwa! Including double parking, it looked like space for around 12 cars. The lot across the street is paid parking!

There’s no elevator, but it’s nice to walk up as a little bit of exercise.

There are photo spots here and there as you climb the stairs, so it never gets boring 👍

Sunday seating and menu at Suwolgyeonghwa

Hours are 11:00 to 23:00. This café has also received a Blue Ribbon. Even though it was Sunday, it was really busy. Luckily, there was still a table for us ❤️

I tried the Dalbodeure Box, a dessert set where traditional sweets meet a modern touch! Every carefully prepared item was charming.

• Dalbodeure Box (signature): ₩13,000; add ₩2,000 for takeaway
• Tarakcha (milk tea): ₩8,000. Available hot or iced, in three varieties: Hona Cloud, Louis Velvet Cloud, and Chestnut Louis Cloud
• Hojigabae (signature): ₩8,000. I was told it combines hojicha, a roasted green tea with a slightly astringent taste, café latte, and cream.
• American-style Gabae: ₩6,500. A classic Americano
• Gabae Ore: ₩7,000. Made with milk and espresso
• Extra shot: ₩1,000

We ordered the Lemon Sunset, an American-style Gabae, the Dalbodeure Box, and one drink for the child 🫡

We were lucky enough to get a window seat. The window seats don’t have backrests ㅠㅠ The other seats do, so if you need a backrest, please choose one of those ❤️

Desserts in the Dalbodeure Box

The ganache monaka is said to be a dessert made with French chocolate, with a deep flavor. It is generously filled with white chocolate ganache full of floral aroma, so with one bite, a bright, sweet flavor spreads through your mouth.

The black rice sulppang, or makgeolli-fermented steamed bread, is said to be a wholesome black-rice bread carefully made through natural fermentation with makgeolli. Its gently spreading makgeolli aroma, the savory nuttiness unique to black rice, and its chewy texture are said to be excellent.

The injeolmi skewer brings together traditional chewy rice cake and nutty soybean powder! Sweet honey and crispy brown rice join in too, making this an unusual skewer dessert that is nutty, sweet, and crunchy all at once.

The Dalbodeure Box had a variety of desserts, so it was great to have alongside the drinks.

The atmosphere was so nice, and I felt completely refreshed. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a café in Songjeong with parking and delicious Korean-style café treats.

The Lemon Sunset in particular is absolutely delicious ❤️ If you’re looking for a café with a lovely atmosphere in Songjeong, I really, really recommend it!
