Where is Tongkeun Shabu in Yeosu, and is there parking?
Tongkeun Shabu is on the 3rd floor of a building at 25 Mangma-ro in Yeosu. It felt like a great spot for a Hakdong or City Hall office dinner, or a group gathering from Yeocheon - !!
There's a private parking lot behind the building, so I parked comfortably and headed up haha

How much is the Tongkeun Shabu all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu?
Here's the all-you-can-eat pricing at Tongkeun Shabu 💸
- Pork neck/beef belly shabu weekday lunch: ₩23,900
- Weekday dinner / weekend / holiday: ₩26,900
- Elementary school kids (8–13): ₩14,000
- Preschoolers (5–7): ₩11,000
Walking in, the place was huge and clean. The seats were spaced far apart and there were so many tables — it looked perfect for group dinners and dining out with others!!

Shabu vegetables and the rice paper wrap corner
The reason Tongkeun Shabu was so good .. ⭐ It's not just the meat and shabu vegetables that are unlimited — the side buffet menu was insane.
First I checked the fresh vegetables, the lifeblood of shabu-shabu. Napa cabbage, bean sprouts, enoki mushrooms, oyster mushrooms, chives, wood ear mushrooms and more were all fresh and well-managed!! I could scoop as much as I wanted of whatever I liked, which was satisfying 🩷
The summer roll corner, essential for shabu-shabu, had fresh perilla leaves, cucumber, carrot, onion, and even pineapple set out.
Dumplings and two kinds of noodle add-ins were also ready. I wanted to try them but there was so much other food I got full and never did — still regret it now 🤧

Pork neck and beef belly: how is the meat quality?
Even though it's all-you-can-eat, true to their policy of never compromising on meat quality, Tongkeun Shabu had trays piled high with pork neck and beef belly with no gamey smell at all!!
There was even a full setup for finishing with porridge — rice, egg, seaweed flakes, sesame oil, all there,,
I scooped up plenty of fresh shabu vegetables and summer roll ingredients without worrying about it and headed back to my seat haha, loaded up on as much meat as I wanted too!! Best value and satisfaction 💓
The sauce corner — soy sauce, chili, peanut sauce — was also neatly organized! You could take as much rice paper as needed, and broth refills were free!!
What is on the side buffet at Tongkeun Shabu?
But the more surprising part starts now — the side buffet dishes,, ❤️

There were nicely arranged salads — smoked duck salad, chicken tender salad, yukhoe (raw beef tartare) — plus kiwi and orange for dessert!!
And the main dishes were incredibly varied too!! Pizza, jjolmyeon (chewy cold noodles), smoked duck, chicken feet, mala chicken, pork ribs, cream pasta, fried rice, chicken, sweet and sour pork 😵 The food was cooked fresh and restocked on the spot so it was hot, and I tried every kind — all delicious!!!!

Sushi corner and gimbap (seaweed rice rolls)
There's even a separate sushi corner, believe it or not..

There was egg sushi and shrimp sushi, loved by kids and adults alike, plus gimbap (seaweed rice roll)!!

Cold noodles, spicy bul-naengmyeon and mushroom soup
There was also a cold noodle corner so you could enjoy naengmyeon (cold noodles), and for those who like it spicy, there was fiery cold noodles too!! There was also a well-prepared warm mushroom soup to soothe your stomach haha

Drink corner and the chocolate fountain dessert zone
From pomegranate and plum ade to various sodas, the drink corner was also all-you-can-drink.

The dessert zone had coffee and ice cream, of course, but also a chocolate fountain. With so many delicious foods available, even kids who don't eat vegetables would be happy — perfect for family dining out!!
I loaded up on side dishes before even getting to the shabu-shabu. Pasta, sushi, gimbap, pizza, spicy chicken, chicken feet, yukhoe, pork ribs — all delicious, I almost got full before even starting the shabu-shabu haha

Adding the mala half-and-half broth for 4,000 won
And the split broth pot they set up!! I added ₩4,000 to have it half mala broth, half regular broth. When you choose mala broth, they give you separate portions of tofu skin, dried tofu, glass noodles and Chinese vermicelli 😊

With the shabu vegetables, meat, and buffet food all piled up, you can see just how loaded the table was 🤎

Once the broth started bubbling, we dumped plenty of fresh vegetables into both sides.

With shabu-shabu, you need to eat a lot of vegetables for it to taste good, and it was so nice being able to eat as much as I wanted — and on the mala broth side, I dumped in all the tofu skin, glass noodles and vermicelli they gave earlier!!
Look at the condition of the pork neck and beef belly we brought over.. the quality was so good it barely felt like an all-you-can-eat place 👍🏻

Put the beef belly into the mala broth and it looked exactly like mala tang. The mala flavor wasn't overpoweringly strong, so even mala beginners could enjoy it deliciously!

Now it's time to cook the meat and eat it,, 🖤 Dip it deep in the peanut sauce and it's out-of-this-world savory,, it went so well with the mala too.
And of course you can't skip the summer rolls,, wrap up fresh vegetables and meat and eat it up 💓
Ice cream to finish the meal
After eating until I was stuffed, it was time for cool ice cream to finish 🍦 They even put chocolate on top of the ice cream, so I got the full sweet-tooth experience!

They're also running a loyalty event, so please check it out ❗
