Otter Rabbit House Jongno Branch is a brunch café tucked in a Jongno alley in Jung-gu, Daegu. I came across it while looking for brunch cafés in Daegu, and it turns out this is actually the second location — the original opened first in Dalseo-gu, Daegu. Once I visited in person, I totally got why they opened a second branch! It's easy to reach since it's right in the Jongno alley, and with the brick-and-wood exterior, it really does feel like a little brunch shop straight out of a fairy tale, just like the name suggests.

The brick exterior on Jongno

The exterior of Otter Rabbit House is decorated in a warm, brick-toned style, so it caught my eye from far away.

It's clean-looking but with a touch of classic charm added in, so the vibe already had me hooked before I even walked in..🤎 For parking, you can use the paid Mangyeonggwan lot across the street. It's only a 5-minute walk from Jungangno Station, so I actually took public transit on purpose haha.

They're also currently selling their famous cherry bingsu (shaved ice), but I'll save that for next time.. 🍒

European-style interior and seating

Inside, Otter Rabbit House Jongno Branch is a European-style space with floor-to-ceiling windows and warm-toned lighting. When I visited there were six 2-person tables, two 4-person tables, and a bar table.

As soon as you step in, you see lush green plants through the big window, which instantly lifts your mood — such a fresh view flooded with natural light 💚

The soft, warm-toned lighting also blends beautifully with the space, giving off strong European café vibes.

Every corner of the shop is decorated with cute little details you can tell were placed with care! You could come for brunch and totally end up getting some great photos too ..☺️🤍

There's also a bar table seat like this, so it's totally fine to enjoy solo.

When I visited there were quite a lot of seats — six 2-person tables and two 4-person tables. It's the perfect spot to sit and chat slowly over brunch!

Thanks to the warm color tones, the whole space felt cozy and relaxed.

Menu and how to order at the kiosk

You order at Otter Rabbit House Jongno Branch using the kiosk next to the entrance. Alongside meal items like pizza and pasta, they also had a good variety of wine.

You order easily through the kiosk by the entrance, but I also snapped a photo of the menu board by the counter.

Since they serve pizza and pasta, they've also lined up a matching variety of wines.

How the iced passionfruit mulled wine tea tastes

The passionfruit mulled wine tea comes out iced. Our drink arrived first, and they kindly brought it right to our table ෆ

Mulled wine is usually enjoyed hot, but having it iced like this was a fun, different kind of delicious. The tartness and pulp from the passionfruit added to the mulled wine made it feel like a fresher, brighter take on the usual drink.

They also added a chunky cinnamon stick, so you get to enjoy the sweet fruit alongside cinnamon aroma!

Is the egg basil French toast worth it?

For our brunch dish, we ordered the egg basil French toast. It was thick, golden-toasted bread layered with soft egg and fragrant basil.

The vibe was great and the plating was so pretty that it almost felt a shame to eat it..🥺 The plating at Otter Rabbit House is a work of art🤍 They say you eat with your eyes first, and this proves it!

We sat by the window, and with the sunlight pouring in, this wave of relaxed, feel-good energy just washed over me haha💓

The egg basil French toast lived up to its name — basil was genuinely the star of the dish. It was layered generously between the slices of bread, so every bite hit you with a strong basil aroma!

When I portioned some onto the little plate they provided, the fresh stevia tomatoes and egg did a great job balancing out the overall flavor 👍🏻

And it paired really well with the mulled wine tea — I totally recommend this combo!

If you love basil, this dish is going to be right up your alley, but if you're not a basil fan, it might taste a bit strong. As for me, I got my basil fix for the day 💚

With its cozy atmosphere and a friendly owner, this new café let me enjoy a genuinely pleasant brunch. Now that I've tried the egg basil French toast, I'd love to work my way through more of the brunch menu next time! I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxed brunch :)
