Seongsu takeout pizza slices, still good 4 hours later: Pizza Slice

In short

Pizza Slice Seoul is a slice pizza shop on basement level 1 on Achasan-ro, near Seongsu Station in Seongdong-gu, Seoul. After eating a slice each with a friend who works in Seongsu, the writer took away Pepperoni, White Hawaiian, Today's Slice bacon potato and Buffalo Wings 4pcs, then shared them with her sister at home four hours later. Because each slice at Pizza Slice Seoul is bigger than a palm, the pizza was still satisfying even gone cold.

Main shot of a slice pizza from Pizza Slice Seoul in Seongsu

Today I went to Seongsu to meet a friend and just grabbed a simple slice of pizza, but it was so much better than expected that I started thinking about my sister at home haha. So I packed some of the pizza I enjoyed to share with her. The place I visited today is Pizza Slice Seoul. It's somewhere my friend, who works in Seongsu, often goes for a solo lunch or dinner, so I tagged along this time.

How much is one slice at Pizza Slice Seoul, and how big is it?

Pizza Slice Seoul is a slice-pizza specialist where you order by the slice instead of the whole pie, with each slice running around ₩6,000 to ₩8,000. It's a bit different from a typical pizzeria, so there's no pressure if you just want pizza by yourself. Most of all, each slice is quite big. When a whole pizza feels like too much but a burger or sandwich feels like too little, this is exactly right for a solo meal. My friend who works in Seongsu said it's also great for a quick lunch break or to pack and take back to the office.

Opening hours and the basement dining room in Seongsu

Pizza Slice Seoul is open from 11am to 8pm with no break time, so it was easy to drop by even at an odd hour. When I visited there were pairs of friends eating together as well as people dining solo.

The shop is in the basement, but it doesn't feel cramped at all. Sunlight pours in through a large window wall, giving it a bright, clean feel instead. Since it's decorated mostly in white tones, it avoids the dim mood that basement shops often have. The tables are spaced generously and there are kids' chairs too, so it looked like a fine spot to bring a child along.

There's also a separate handwashing area toward the back, which was convenient to use before and after eating.

The takeout order: pepperoni, white Hawaiian, today's slice, buffalo wings

We weren't super hungry that day, but my friend suggested we try a slice, and it turned out to be just right. A single slice isn't too heavy but still fills you up more than you'd expect. I ended up liking it enough that I packed some to share with my sister.

  • White Hawaiian Slice
  • Today's Slice, a bacon potato pizza
  • Buffalo Wings 4pcs (added after seeing the next table enjoying them)

Since it would take a while to get home, I asked them to pack the pizza cold, without reheating. They packed it neatly into a box and then wrapped it once more in plastic, so it stayed safe on the way home even though it was raining outside.

Opening the Seongsu pizza box at home four hours later

After hanging out for about 4 hours, I got home and opened the box with my sister. The first thing she said when she saw it.

Wait, this is just one slice?

Haha, fair reaction — the size of one slice is genuinely huge.

It was way bigger than my palm, almost giant-pizza territory, so my sister and I kept comparing it to our hands and laughing at how huge it was haha.

White Hawaiian Slice

My sister's first pick was, of course, the White Hawaiian Slice. She likes bright, fresh-tasting pizzas, especially ones with pineapple, and she said the sweet pineapple juice bursts through with every bite, along with the onion and bacon, making it sweet-and-salty in a good way. The crust wasn't too thick either, with a nice chewy texture. Personally, when a crust is too thick I sometimes feel like I'm eating bread more than toppings, but here the balance between toppings and dough was solid.

Today's Slice: bacon potato

And then the bacon potato pizza I love — this one is genuinely delicious. It's the Today's Slice, and it seemed like a combination that would do well as a permanent menu item. I already like potato pizza in general, and here the toppings were piled on generously so every bite delivered a proper savory, salty flavor. The saltiness of the bacon paired well with the mild, savory potato, and with the chewy crust too, I kept reaching for more.

And the Buffalo Wings we ordered as a side were good too. They're coated in that slightly tangy, umami American-style buffalo sauce, and that sauce is really my style. One bite of the potato pizza, one bite of wings — that combo worked really well. Even eaten 4 hours after packing, everything was still tasty overall.

Of course pizza is even better eaten warm right at the shop, but it was still satisfying packed up and eaten at home.

Lettering pizza and the verdict on Pizza Slice Seoul

They also mentioned that lettering pizza can be ordered with advance reservation. It sounds like a fun option for anniversaries or birthdays when you want something a little more special. Most pizzerias around Seongsu-dong sell by the whole pie, which can feel like a lot for eating alone, so Pizza Slice Seoul's clear advantage is being able to pick and order whichever flavors you want, slice by slice.

It's great for a solo slice, great for sharing several flavors with friends, and, as I found, great for packing up and sharing with family too. The shop is clean and bright, and the staff were kind, so it was a pleasant visit overall. If you're looking for a solo dining spot in Seongsu, or want great pizza without committing to a whole pie, Pizza Slice Seoul is worth trying slice by slice. Thanks for the meal today~
