Wondang bakery café in Goyang with tomato ham cheese bread: Baedagol

In short

Baedagol Bakery House is a large bakery café near Wondang in Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi. Dropping in alone while waiting for a tire change, I ordered tomato ham cheese bread for 6,000 won, salt bread for 3,000 won, mont blanc for 6,000 won, fresh fruit mascarpone fig cake for 9,000 won and an Americano, then took my time with the second-floor window seats, the outdoor terrace stocked with blankets and the garden spread out below. Baedagol Bakery House has far more to look at than an indoor-only café, so a long solo visit never gets dull.

Where is Baedagol Bakery House in Goyang?

Baedagol Bakery House is a bakery café near Wondang at 123 Hoguk-ro 1121beon-gil, Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi. It's open daily from 10:00 to 21:00, last order 20:30, and free parking is available.

I came to the area to get my car tires changed and ended up with more time than expected, so I looked around nearby and stopped by Baedagol Bakery House. I hadn't planned on visiting, but once I got there the space turned out to be much nicer than I expected, so I slowly explored the Wondang café inside and out ❤️ Especially since it's not just a place to sit and drink coffee indoors — you get to see outdoor spaces too — I came away feeling really happy with how the place was designed ^^

The building and the free parking lot

I came by car, and since free parking was available, I parked and went straight into the café. Even from the entrance I could tell it wasn't just a single café building — the surrounding space was designed together with it, so I ended up looking around before even going inside.

What bread is in the display cases?

Baedagol Bakery House has a wide variety of bakery and drink items, so it's fun just browsing the bread 👍

You find a lot of big cafés in Goyang, but a lot of them turn out to be indoor-only once you actually walk in — here, though, you get both indoor and outdoor spaces to see! And true to being a bakery café, the variety of bread was fun to browse 🥖🥐

Every bake at Baedagol was good 😋

Beyond the variety of bakery items, the moment I walked into this Wondang café the smell of freshly baked bread nearly knocked me out! Especially the ones I tried later — they were seriously delicious, so pay close attention ❤️ 🤍

The cakes look pretty tempting too, right?^^ Which one should I pick to make sure I say it was worth it ~🤭

What are the second floor and outdoor terrace like?

On the second floor of Baedagol Bakery House, the stairs lead straight out to an outdoor terrace, where blankets are provided. There's also a private room-style table area in one corner of the second floor, which looked great for gatherings.

The second floor had a completely different vibe from the first floor. The whole front is windows, so the sunlight coming in was lovely ~ Among the Goyang cafés I've been to, this spot really caught my eye. And when I stepped outside from the second floor, there was an outdoor space set up too^^

The outdoor terrace, which seemed like it would be great to use depending on the weather and season, was really charming. It's nice to have more spaces to explore than just enjoying a café indoors 👍 👍

The garden seen from the second floor

The outdoor garden as seen from the second-floor terrace was so, so pretty ❤️ 🤍 And the weather that day was amazing too — the sky was blue and the breeze was gentle, just standing there put me in a good mood!

The happiness a space can give really is something. If this were near my house, I feel like I'd come every day just to feel the seasons change — such a charming Wondang café ❤️

What one person ordered, and what it cost

  • Salt bread ₩3,000
  • Mont blanc ₩6,000
  • Tomato ham cheese bread ₩6,000
  • Fresh fruit mascarpone fig cake ₩9,000
  • Americano ₩6,000

I came alone that day, but I couldn't settle for just one bread, so I picked out a few things.

Tomato ham cheese bread, 6,000 won

Tomato ham cheese bread on a plate

Tomato ham cheese bread, as the name suggests, has ham, cheese and tomato in it.

Cross-section of the tomato ham cheese bread cut in half

When I cut it in half, I found not just ham and cheese but tomato and olives inside too — it was more packed than I expected.

One bite gives you the salty flavor of ham and cheese, plus the fresh tang of tomato, with olives popping up here and there — it felt more like a meal than a sweet bread. Especially with the ham and cheese, it went really well with the Americano, more so than plain bread would have.

Fresh fruit mascarpone fig cake, 9,000 won

Fresh fruit mascarpone cake topped with fig

A big fig sat on top, so it looked pretty, and when I actually tried it, the fig's mild sweetness went really well with the soft mascarpone cream.

There was that distinct crunch of fig seeds, and combined with the cream, the overall texture was smooth and easy to eat. If you keep eating bread after bread it can get a bit heavy, so having fruit on top made it a nice change of pace. This Wondang café's cakes are good too 👍 👍

Salt bread, 3,000 won

Salt bread from Baedagol Bakery House

You could call this the foundation of bakery cafés these days. If the salt bread isn't good, there's no point trying anything else! At this Goyang café, Baedagol Bakery House, the salt bread was genuinely top-notch 👍

Inside of the salt bread after a bite

The salty flavor comes through subtly and it's clean-tasting, so it was easy to slip in between other breads. Especially after eating something sweet, having a bite of salt bread felt like a palate reset, and it went great with the Americano.

Mont blanc, 6,000 won

The mont blanc had a look with layered texture, so I picked one of these too. Taking a bite, the outer part had that layered texture, and it got softer and smoother toward the center.

It was mildly sweet, so it went nicely with coffee, and rather than feeling like a super-sweet dessert, it let you actually enjoy the flavor of the bread itself 👍 👍 True to being a Goyang bakery café, the variety of bread here is genuinely well done 😍

A Goyang café found by chance on an errand day

I only stopped by because I was in the area for a tire change, but there ended up being more space to explore inside and out than I expected, so it turned into a good time. Browsing the bread display, walking from the first floor to the second, and checking out the outdoor space — I wasn't bored at all during my visit 😍

If you're looking for a Goyang café where you can enjoy bakery items along with a space worth exploring, Baedagol Bakery House seems worth a visit 👍
