I'd been slacking on hair care and it got all frizzy with split ends — every time I looked in the mirror it stressed me out ㅠㅠ Every morning while styling my hair lately, I'd just sigh. So I finally worked up the courage to go to a Bundang hair salon, Yeum Hair Jeongja Branch near Jeongja Station 🧡

I'm usually pretty cautious about switching salons, but the reviews were so good I thought I'd trust them this once. Right from the entrance, the "YEWOOM HAIR" sign glowing softly under the lighting gave off exactly the right vibe.

Even at the door I already sensed 'this place is different.' The reviews had me expecting a lot, but going in person, the kindness exceeded even that.

A different vibe from the start — comfortable inside

The moment I stepped inside, the atmosphere was genuinely great!

Definitely a Bundang hair salon?! White-toned interior with soft lighting, plus artificial flowers on the ceiling as an accent — not cluttered, just calm, so I felt at ease as soon as I walked in. The seats were spaced generously too, so it never felt cramped. I liked that each seat had its own breathing room so I could relax without worrying about the customer next to me.

Natural light poured into the window seats, making the mood even brighter ☀️

Sitting by the sunny window, it almost felt like being at a café. The staff greeted me brightly, which melted away my nerves, and even the waiting time wasn't uncomfortable at all.

They had a good variety of magazines and webtoon books, so there was no chance of getting bored. Flipping through a magazine I liked while waiting was oddly relaxing haha. Just sitting there felt healing, honestly 🌈

Kindness I felt the moment I sat down

That comfortable atmosphere is probably why I could relax and trust them through the whole treatment. As soon as I sat down, they started asking me all sorts of things

in careful detail — and it didn't feel like formality at all, I could genuinely tell they cared about my hair condition haha. They asked how I usually take care of it, whether I style it often, all these little things, and I was a bit surprised at how thorough they were. Even just glancing at the length,

they accurately picked up on my hair condition and immediately suggested a customized treatment that would suit me 🎯

During the consultation they even brought out a welcome drink — iced tea and jelly served in a cup with the logo on it — and that's when I realized their attention to detail extended even here. Feeling them care about even the smallest details put me at ease somehow. It had been a genuinely long time since I'd been to a salon this kind and this thorough.

Dry, damaged hair, honest advice

When I honestly told them my hair was really dry and damaged, they immediately pinpointed the cause and recommended using a hair mist. Among the various hair care products displayed on one side of the store, they picked out exactly the one suited to my hair condition.

They explained the ingredients and effects in detail too, so I was fully convinced why this particular product suited me. Rather than just tossing out a recommendation, they walked me through when and how to apply it, and how to take care of it at home — I felt so reassured and grateful. I only properly learned that day that you should apply it right after showering. Getting these detailed care tips made me feel like they genuinely cared about the customer 😤

A root perm instead of a full perm — and I wasn't disappointed at all

Honestly, at first I wanted a thicker perm. But since my hair length wasn't quite long enough, I let go of that idea and, after discussing with the designer, switched direction to a root perm. It could have been a bit of a letdown, but the designer's touch was so kind and careful that I wasn't disappointed in the slightest 🔥 If anything, the realistic suggestion suited to my hair length made me trust them even more.

I could feel, right in front of me, how carefully and precisely each snip of the scissors was made, strand by strand. Every fingertip movement was so delicate that just watching built trust.

And throughout the whole treatment they treated me so comfortably

that it was a genuinely relaxing time, body and mind.

Cut → root perm → recut: a process that built up quality step by step

The order of the process was also really thorough —

first a light cut to set the overall line, then moving on to the root perm. They rolled each rod at the roots with real care, and you could see them carefully adjusting the spacing and angle. Not a single roll was rushed.

Next they carefully placed a dedicated perm machine over my head and applied heat thoroughly. They kept checking in along the way whether the heat felt okay and whether I was uncomfortable, which was reassuring.

After applying the perm solution, they carried out the neutralizing process with just as much care — applying the neutralizer and leaving it for a set time to fix the curl properly in place. They explained that how carefully this neutralizing step is done affects how long the perm lasts, and I thought, ah, this is what makes them a professional. They even applied treatment cream step by step with real care, which gave it a truly professional feel.

Once the root perm was done, it wasn't over — they went back and corrected the overall shape with another cut. Fitting the line to the newly permed state,

watching them reset the line, I thought 'ah, this is why the result comes out different.' And if they spotted anything else that needed it, they'd trim once more to perfect the details. Going through it this thoroughly, step by step, checking constantly — I couldn't help but trust them completely. The process of not finishing in one go but continuously checking and refining left a real impression on me.

Fringe curl — glad I got the honest advice

I'd originally been considering adding a slight curl to my fringe, but the designer honestly told me, "I think it'll suit you better without it."

They could have easily just done it for the sake of sales, but I could tell they were thinking about my face shape and overall style first, and that built even more trust.

Trusting that advice, I skipped the fringe curl, and the result ended up looking much more natural and suited my face shape well. Checking it in the mirror afterward, I thought 'I'm really glad I skipped it' haha.
