In short
Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch is a hanwoo (Korean beef) charcoal grill restaurant with private rooms on Hyowon-ro 291beon-gil in Ingye-dong, Suwon, a 3-minute walk from Exit 10 of Suwon City Hall Station. Two servings of the assorted hanwoo solo set (150g, 49,000 won each) were eaten with Sinan grilled salt, wasabi and myeongi namul (pickled wild garlic leaves), then finished with doenjang sulbap (soybean paste rice, 7,000 won) and a complimentary patbingsu (red bean shaved ice). The chandeliers and private rooms suit dates and formal dinners, but the prices at Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch are not light.

What side dishes come with the hanwoo?
The basic side dishes at Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch come out in brass bowls: seasoned green onion, gat kimchi (mustard leaf kimchi), myeongi namul, wasabi, white cucumber pickles, and grilled Sinan salt.
Neatly served in brass bowls, the basic side dishes — from fresh seasoned green onion to gat kimchi, myeongi namul, wasabi, white cucumber pickles, and grilled Sinan salt — form a lineup that brings out the flavor of the meat in various ways.

Two hanwoo solo sets on the charcoal grill: how does it taste?
The hanwoo solo set for two servings arrives on a black plate with various beef cuts along with king oyster mushroom, sweet pumpkin, and cheongyang pepper. Grilled over charcoal, it was softest when dipped just in grilled Sinan salt and wasabi.
The hanwoo solo set ordered for two that day came elegantly plated on a black plate — various cuts of beef with fine snowflake-like marbling running through the deep red flesh, along with king oyster mushroom, sweet pumpkin, and cheongyang pepper.

When you lay the meat and vegetables over the glowing charcoal grill grate, a sizzling sound fills the air along with the charcoal aroma coating the meat's surface, teasing your nose.

Taking the first bite dipped lightly in grilled salt with a touch of wasabi, it melts so softly there's barely any need to chew, and the savory juices spread across your whole mouth.

It's also delicious wrapped with myeongi namul and green onion, and the house pickles finish it off nicely and refreshingly.
The appeal of the assorted set is that each cut has its own distinct charm, so you get to taste many different flavors at once!

Finishing with doenjang sulbap for 7,000 won
The doenjang sulbap at Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch is ₩7,000 and comes bubbling in an earthenware pot. The tofu, zucchini, and rice grains, all thoroughly cooked in the doenjang broth, were the perfect finish after the meat.
The doenjang sulbap that follows, served bubbling in an earthenware pot, looks incredibly appetizing with hearty chunks of tofu and zucchini and rice grains simmered in a savory, deep traditional doenjang broth.

Taking a big spoonful with the hot broth, the salty doenjang seasoning has soaked deep into the rice grains, cleanly and satisfyingly balancing out the rich fattiness of the beef.

Just as we were finishing up, they brought out a complimentary patbingsu, which made the ending even more delightful!! The patbingsu tasted like nostalgic old-school patbingsu — so good it's almost unfair!!
Best ways to eat the hanwoo: salt, wasabi and myeongi namul
- Take the first well-grilled bite of hanwoo lightly dipped in just grilled Sinan salt to feel the meat's natural flavor and soft juiciness as is.
- For the second bite, add a touch of sharp wasabi and wrap it in salty myeongi namul — the greasiness disappears and you get an excellent sweet-and-savory combo.
- Between bites, try topping the savory doenjang sulbap with a bit of seasoned green onion — this combo is a standout treat all on its own.
What was disappointing at Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch
Given that this is a grill restaurant specializing in premium hanwoo cuts, it's a bit disappointing that the price range is on the higher side for a casual visit.
Since it's located in the heart of a busy commercial district, store-exclusive parking can be limited during peak hours, so public transit or a nearby public parking lot is recommended.
Final verdict on Yeongpo Hwa-ro Ingye Branch
The excellent texture of hanwoo with standout snowflake marbling, the flavor of the charcoal grill, and the doenjang sulbap combination are all perfect. Thanks to the private atmosphere, it's very satisfying as a spot for formal gatherings or dates.
