Uijeongbu marinated galbi restaurant, 4 servings for two: Manpo Galbi
In short
Manpo Galbi Uijeongbu Main Branch is a handmade marinated galbi (grilled marinated ribs) restaurant on Beomgol-ro 145beon-gil in Uijeongbu, Gyeonggi. Arriving at a quiet 3:30pm, two diners ordered 3 servings of the handmade marinated galbi, added a 4th, and finished it five ways: plain, dipped in pickled onion, wrapped in lettuce, over rice, and on top of the free Hamhung-style cold noodles. The fruit-based marinade at Manpo Galbi stayed mild rather than cloying, and with one free bowl of cold noodles per person it made for a great-value Uijeongbu galbi meal.

Today's post is the "food" edition of my clothing/food/housing/leisure series, and it's about Uijeongbu pork galbi (marinated ribs). I was craving galbi so badly I just searched and stumbled on this place, and by the time I finished eating my stomach was so full I basically waddled out. Today's star is Manpo Galbi Uijeongbu Main Branch.

A day that called for nothing but galbi
That day I couldn't think about anything but galbi. So I searched and ended up at Manpo Galbi Uijeongbu Main Branch, and looking back, I picked well.

Manpo! Do you know what the name means? I'll explain slowly, haha.

The weekday lunch special: galbi sotbap set, 11,000 won
📍 Location: banner at the store entrance
On weekdays from 11am to 3pm, the galbi sotbap (rib rice pot) set is ₩11,000. I'm planning to come back for lunch next time.

📍 Location: next to the restaurant
There's a customer-only parking lot right next to the store, so that was one less thing to worry about.

A sign that the cold noodles are made in house
I saw a sign saying they make their own noodles, so I figured I could expect good cold noodles too — and that hunch turned out to be right.

Inside Manpo Galbi: seating and atmosphere
Manpo Galbi Uijeongbu Main Branch has generous spacing between tables and several 4-person tables with built-in grills, so it looked like a good spot for group dinners too. We visited around 3:30pm, past the lunch rush, so it was quiet and comfortable.

What the name Manpo Galbi actually means
On the wall, in big letters, it said "man" (滿, full) and "po" (布, to give generously). Whoever named this place had a sense of humor.

Baby chairs and other touches for families
Seeing baby chairs ready to go, it seems like a lot of families come here too.

I also liked the neatly arranged glasses by each table, plus the neatly wrapped chopsticks and spoon sets!
Manpo Galbi Uijeongbu Main Branch menu and prices

Handmade LA galbi (250g) ₩25,000, handmade marinated galbi (250g) ₩16,000, raw/marinated beef short ribs (250g) ₩35,000, Korean pork raw ribs (200g) ₩17,000. We went for the handmade marinated galbi without hesitation.

The six side dishes at Manpo Galbi
Yukhoe (raw beef) add-on (150g) ₩13,000, handmade Hamhung-style cold noodles free, chadol doenjang jjigae ₩4,000, pudding-style steamed egg ₩3,000. Already, this felt like great value.

Two diners, 4 servings of handmade marinated galbi
The two of us ended up eating 4 servings of handmade marinated galbi. We ordered 3 servings first, ran out (we ate well, okay!), and added a 4th. It's supposedly 100% ribs with a marinade packed with fruit, and even before it hit the grill, the marinade was evenly soaked in and the meat looked nice and thick, which really got my expectations up.

Dried kimchi radish, seasoned doraji (bellflower root), fried snacks, myeongi namul (wild garlic leaves), yukhoe salad, and corn salad — six side dishes in all. Just looking at the sides already felt filling.
A sweet-and-tangy bibim naengmyeon (cold mixed noodles) arrived topped with cucumber, egg strips, and sesame seeds. Being house-made, the noodles definitely had some chew to them.

So with the cold noodles and side dishes all set up, what's left? Time to demolish the main event!!! We started grilling and eating right away.

Five ways to eat Manpo Galbi's marinated galbi
1. A first bite of the galbi on its own
First I tried it plain, with no accompaniments. It wasn't overpowering, more of a subtle sweetness, so I was satisfied from the very first bite.

2. Dipped in the pickled onion
Second, I ate it with the tangy pickled onion. The crunchy texture cut through the richness, and I kept reaching for more.

3. In a lettuce wrap with stir-fried kimchi
Third, I wrapped the meat in lettuce along with the stir-fried kimchi side dish. Given how expensive lettuce has gotten these days, getting such a generous amount was a quietly welcome touch.

4. With a spoonful of rice, the favorite combination
Fourth, I put a piece of meat on top of a bowl of rice and ate it in one bite. The whole bowl of rice disappeared instantly.
5. On top of the free Hamhung-style cold noodles
To finish, I put the last piece of galbi on top of the cold noodles. The sweet-and-tangy noodle sauce paired better with the galbi's sweetness than I expected, and I was glad I ended on this combination.

How full 4 servings of galbi leaves two people
After eating it so many different ways, my stomach was so full I nearly rolled out the door. I overate for the first time in a while! A great Uijeongbu galbi restaurant, confirmed! That subtle, not-too-strong fruity flavor was so satisfying — never got tiring, never felt greasy.

Is Manpo Galbi worth it near Uijeongbu Station?
If you're looking for a good restaurant near Uijeongbu Station, Manpo Galbi seems like a solid pick. Getting a free bowl of cold noodles per person really does live up to the name — a place that truly
Lastly, at the entrance they also sell takeout packages for gifts, home parties, or a nice dinner in! Wishing you happiness at home too, haha.
