Buldang-dong Cheonan family weekend lunch, three dishes: Hyangtaek
In short
Hyangtaek Cheonan Buldang Branch is a Korean restaurant on Buldang 25-ro in Seobuk-gu, Cheonan, with a parking lot that validates for customers and a wide dining hall. The writer arrived at 12:30 on a Saturday with her husband and child and ordered mackerel gondre rice (rice with seasoned gondre greens), yukhoe bibimbap (raw beef rice bowl) and a galbi platter; there was a wait, but the many tables kept turnover quick. The food at Hyangtaek is mild rather than spicy, so the child cleared her plate too, making it a dependable weekend meal out for families.

On weekends, you start wondering what healthy, delicious meal to share with the family. On a weekend when I was craving something neat and hearty rather than spicy or heavy, my husband, our little one Chaettong, and I headed out to a wonderful Korean restaurant that ended up satisfying the whole family.
Today I want to give a really detailed account of our visit to Hyangtaek Cheonan Buldang Branch, a family dining spot in Buldang-dong where the spacious, comfortable dining room, the convenient parking system, and the excellent food all came together perfectly.

How big is the dining hall, and how does the parking work?
When you're eating out with a kid on the weekend, the first things you check are parking and how comfortable the space is, right? Parking at Hyangtaek Cheonan Buldang Branch was really convenient, so even in busy Buldang-dong, I could park without any stress and walk right in.

Stepping inside, the space was even bigger and cleaner than I expected. The tables had generous spacing and the interior felt genuinely upscale, so it was a great fit for families with kids to sit and relax. The owner and staff greeted us with bright, warm smiles too, so this family dining spot in Buldang-dong earned high marks from the very first impression. I visited around 12:30 on a Saturday, and it was busy enough that there was a wait! But with so many tables, turnover was fast, so there's not much to worry about.

Three dishes on one table: mackerel gondre rice, yukhoe bibimbap and galbi
The dishes our family ordered that day were Hyangtaek's signature mackerel gondre rice (samchi gondre-bap), yukhoe bibimbap (raw beef bibimbap), and a full platter of galbi (grilled short ribs)! Each dish looked so neat and beautifully arranged that we couldn't help but exclaim the moment they landed on the table.

Mackerel gondre rice (grilled mackerel over seasoned gondre greens)
Fluffy rice loaded with fragrant gondre (dried mountain vegetable greens), paired with mackerel grilled crisp outside and moist inside — eating it felt like a full recharge of health. It wasn't spicy at all and used lean fillet meat, so it was great for kids too! Our Chaettong dug in happily, saying, "Mom, this is so nutty and delicious!"

Yukhoe bibimbap (raw beef rice bowl)
Piled generously with fresh yukhoe (seasoned raw beef), this dish exploded with nuttiness and umami the more you chewed. The special sauce and crisp fresh vegetables came together in perfect harmony, really waking up the appetite.

Galbi platter
The galbi came out grilled tender and juicy, with a soft texture and sweet-salty seasoning that anyone of any age would love. Our whole family thoroughly enjoyed this generously plated spread, and by the end I understood exactly why this place is known as a Buldang-dong family dining destination.
Is Hyangtaek a filling meal for the whole family?
After filling up on such carefully made Korean food, all the weekend fatigue just melted away. The portions were generous and the quality excellent, so I think it'd also be a great spot for bringing parents along or hosting gatherings.
Our Chaettong finished every last spoonful and promised to come back again. With great taste, atmosphere, and convenience all in one place, I think this is going to become our family's go-to Korean restaurant.

Chaewoomom's three-line verdict on Hyangtaek
- Thanks to the spacious, comfortable facilities and convenient parking, this is a Buldang-dong family dining spot you can visit anytime without hassle.
- From the fragrant mackerel gondre rice to the fresh yukhoe bibimbap and sweet galbi, every dish was excellent.
- The flavors are mild and healthy rather than spicy, so it's a hearty Korean restaurant where kids like our Chaettong eat happily too.
If you want the whole family to have a happy time with real, gentle, filling Korean food, go enjoy a warm meal at Hyangtaek Cheonan Buldang Branch.
