Super Protein poke with salmon and tomato soup set: Hola Poke

In short

Hola Poke Seolleung Branch is a poke restaurant in Gangnam, Seoul, a five-minute walk from Seolleung Station Exit 2, on the 2nd floor of its building. This time the writer ordered the Super Protein poke with added salmon and a poke+soup set with tomato soup for ₩20,500, and the tangy, subtly spicy tomato soup cleaned the palate between bites of poke. It's a solid meal for a day when you want to eat light but still get plenty of protein.

I wanted a dinner that wasn't too heavy, so I headed to Hola Poke Seolleung Branch, a Seolleung poke spot. I'd enjoyed it last time too, so this time I went all in and added salmon to the Super Protein poke for a heartier meal haha. Let me introduce what I tried this time!

Exterior of Hola Poke Seolleung Branch on the 2nd floor of the building

Hola Poke Seolleung Branch is about a five-minute walk from Seolleung Station Exit 2. It's on the 2nd floor of the building, so just check the sign and head upstairs — not hard to find at all. I had a good memory of the food from last time, so I came back again haha.

Order counter on the left of the store entrance

Once you go up to the 2nd floor and step inside, the order counter is right there on the left. It seems like a lot of people come here looking for a light Seolleung poke spot, since there was a steady stream of diners the whole time I was there. I picked my menu before even grabbing a seat.

Menu and how to order

The menu is pretty varied — garlic shrimp, tuna, smoked duck, avocado steak, seafood, Super Protein, and more.

You can also build a custom poke with your own choice of ingredients, and there are wrap options too, so there's plenty to choose from! Last time I had the seafood poke, so this time I decided to go with something completely different.

Order guide for choosing the ratio of rice to salad

One thing I really like about Hola Poke is that you get to choose the ratio of rice to salad! I wanted warm soup again this time, so I ordered the poke+soup set — base poke+soup set ₩13,500, plus ₩3,500 for choosing Super Protein poke, plus ₩3,500 for added salmon, and tomato soup with no extra charge, done! Last time I had the mushroom soup, so I was curious about the tomato soup this time haha.

Interior and seating

The store is decorated mainly in orange and white, giving it a bright, clean overall vibe.

There are solo seats for eating comfortably alone, plus 2-person and 4-person tables,

Super Protein poke + added salmon, soup set ₩20,500

Soup & poke set ₩20,500, Super Protein + tomato soup. After a short wait, my poke and soup were ready in no time.

Table setting with Super Protein poke and tomato soup set

This time I chose Super Protein poke with added salmon! With a name like Super Protein, it came out piled high in the bowl, looking hearty just from the visuals. Adding salmon on top made it even more filling haha. I came to a poke place hoping to eat light, but it felt like I was properly getting my protein in too — perfect for dinner.

Time to mix all the ingredients and sauce together and dig in! Being Super Protein poke, it definitely let me taste a good variety of ingredients in every bite, and the fullness factor was pretty solid too.

A bite of poke with protein toppings and vegetables

The crunchy veggie texture that poke is known for, combined with the protein toppings, made it light without feeling like I was just eating a plain salad — I liked that.

Felt like I could power through the rest of the day after this haha.

Tangy, subtly spicy tomato soup

How tomato soup compares to mushroom soup

And this was my first time trying the tomato soup. The mushroom soup I had last time was thick and nutty, but the tomato soup was a completely different vibe. It had that classic tangy tomato flavor, plus a subtle spiciness I wasn't expecting. Not too spicy, just gently warming, so spooning it up between bites of poke cleaned my palate and the combination worked really well.

In the end I cleaned my plate again this time, from poke to tomato soup haha. Last time it was seafood poke + mushroom soup, and this time it was totally different with Super Protein poke + tomato soup, and both had their own charm.

If you want to eat light but still want to load up on protein, I recommend the Super Protein poke! If you're looking for a Seolleung poke spot that's easy on the wallet for lunch, Hola Poke Seolleung Branch is worth a visit.
