Western restaurant near Gangnam Station with mom, omelet rice cutting

In short

Eulji Darak Gangnam Station is a Western restaurant on the 2nd floor near Gangnam Station in Seoul. Visiting with mom, the writer ordered darak omurice, spicy cream pasta, and katsu sando, and even got the tableside cutting service where staff slice the omelet open. Between the huge chandelier and the flowery plates, it felt more like a special occasion spot than a quick bite.

Signature photo of Western food at Eulji Darak Gangnam

Today I'm sharing my visit to a Western restaurant in Gangnam, Eulji Darak Gangnam. Ladies! You know that feeling when you suddenly crave Western food?? I usually eat Korean food every day, but I got a sudden pasta craving and went with my mom!

Entrance space on the 2nd floor of Eulji Darak Gangnam
The entrance felt fancy right away, almost like an elevator lobby!

From the omurice to the spicy cream pasta to the katsu sando, everything looked so good in photos, and it tasted even better in person. Let me introduce Eulji Darak!!!

Basic info and atmosphere at Eulji Darak Gangnam

The thing that caught my eye most inside was the huge chandelier hanging in a glass-walled space. It had a golden frame with clear ornaments dangling from it, and with the lights sparkling, it had such presence. It just felt like the kind of pretty spot princesses would go to!!!

Felt like a princess...

That one chandelier really set the mood for the whole space! Around it, the walls were bright, with wood furniture and marble-patterned tables. There were also round, fluffy-looking pendant lights, and some areas were divided off with angular wood frames, so each seat had a slightly different vibe. (It was fun just looking at the lighting.)

What we ordered: darak omurice, spicy cream pasta, katsu sando

We ordered the most famous items! Darak omurice, spicy cream pasta, and katsu sando! I've been here before, so I was drooling over the menu again haha.

Menu at Eulji Darak Gangnam

Darak omurice (Japanese-style omelet rice) is fried rice topped with a Japanese-style omelet and the restaurant's homemade omurice sauce. According to the menu, the spicy cream pasta has four kinds of cheese, shrimp, and spicy seasoning in a creamy sauce — thick, spicy, and a little sweet, so good. And the katsu sando? You already know, right? I've come here multiple times and it's always this delicious — you really have to try it, please!

Darak omurice — the tableside cutting is the highlight

The omurice at Eulji Darak Gangnam catches your eye right away with its smooth, golden omelet on top. It's served on a wavy-edged white plate with plenty of brown sauce, which makes the yellow of the egg stand out even more. Seriously, how do they make it look this perfect,,,

And the highlight of this dish is the cutting moment! At the table, they slice through the middle of the omelet with a knife, and as the smooth surface opens up, the moist, soft egg inside is revealed. The difference before and after cutting is unmistakable, right?? A short video captures the moment the omelet opens up even better than a single photo. They asked if it was okay to take pictures!! So I grabbed my camera right away :)

The surface is smooth but the inside is moist, so it's a dish that egg lovers should keep an eye on. Scoop up a bit of sauce with the egg and rice together and it just melts in your mouth,,,,

Spicy cream pasta, mixed with the egg yolk

The pasta was so cute starting with the flowery plate. The orange sauce spread out wide next to the noodles, with cheese and green herbs on top, and an egg yolk sitting right in the center.

Placed on the bright table, the colors of the plate and food really came alive together. This kind of tableware detail is so satisfying to photograph haha.

Before eating, the noodles and sauce are plated separately, but once you pop the yolk and mix it all together quickly, the sauce coats everything so deliciously!!!! Ah, I guess Koreans really do need some spice in their food,,, it was seriously so good! Spicy but it cuts through any richness, and that spicy cream sauce is just the best,,,

Katsu sando, a thick cross-section of meat

The katsu sando really caught the eye with its meat cross-section. Between the white bread there's a thick cutlet, and honestly your eyes go straight to the meat before the bread lol. It came sliced into four pieces side by side, which made it easy to pick up and share!

The breading clings along the edges of the meat, and there's brown sauce inside the bread too! On the side came a small bowl of what looked like pickled cabbage or pickles, plus pickles and cherry tomatoes.

Overall verdict — what kind of occasion suits this place

Rather than a light quick meal, it's easier to decide to go here if you're thinking of it as a dinner in a place with atmosphere. It seems like it'd be great for a blind date or a wedding invitation gathering — such an elegant mood✨

Restaurant seating area with bright tables and wood furniture

What stuck with me most from this visit to Eulji Darak Gangnam were the pretty chandelier, the elegant plates, and the food that was just so, so good!

  • A space where a huge chandelier stands out
  • The combination of bright tables and flowery plates
  • The fun of capturing the omurice cutting moment
  • A varied lineup with omurice, pasta, and katsu sando
  • However, note the one main per person policy and check your budget for extra orders

This is a great spot to check out if you have a meal planned with a friend in Gangnam, or if you're on a date and want pretty food photos too. If you're craving Western food in Gangnam, I highly recommend Eulji Darak!
