Suwon pizza restaurant with a friend, pepperoni-shrimp half-and-half

Today I went to Haenggung-dong after a while to eat something delicious and hang out with my best friend, haha. Haenggung-dong has so many pretty cafés and restaurants that it's fun just deciding where to go. This time I came looking for a place with good pizza and Western food that also had a nice atmosphere.

The place I'm introducing today is Low Five! It seemed great for visiting with a friend, but the atmosphere was also nice enough that it would work well for a date with a partner.

A forest-like exterior right from the entrance

First I checked out the exterior, and the atmosphere was really nice right from the entrance. Plants and trees were arranged everywhere, giving off a gentle feeling like stepping into a small restaurant deep in a forest. It matched the sentimental vibe unique to Haenggung-dong really well. My friend and I took photos while walking in, and the entrance was so pretty that it raised my expectations, haha.

An interior like a little brick house

Once inside, the interior was decorated in a similar style to the exterior. The brick interior in particular caught my eye — it felt like eating inside a little brick house from a fairy tale, which I personally loved.

Wine bottles and various props were placed around the store, so there was fun in just looking around. Overall it didn't feel overly decorated but rather comfortable and sentimental, which made it seem like a good place to sit and talk for a long time. That's why I thought it would suit anyone looking for a date spot restaurant in Haenggung-dong.

In the middle of the store, hot sauce and plates were set out so you could grab them yourself. It was convenient not having to keep calling the staff whenever you needed something.

You order through a table order tablet, so I could take my time looking at the menu and order comfortably. Looking at the menu, there was a variety of Western dishes prepared, including pizza and pasta.

After some thought, we ordered the Hot Pot Pescatore pasta and a Half-and-Half pizza!

After ordering, we waited a bit and the basic table setting was neatly prepared. The tableware and glasses here were pretty too. Even a drink didn't come in a plain regular cup but in a nice glass, which matched the overall atmosphere well. Not just the food but even these small details gave the place a sense of character.

After a little more waiting, the food we ordered finally arrived. Wow... it looked so delicious just from the visual that I kept taking photos, haha. With the pizza and pasta placed together on the table, it looked even more filling than I expected.

Hot Pot Pescatore pasta

The first thing I tried was the Hot Pot Pescatore pasta. The spicy tomato-based broth had soaked into the noodles well, so it was delicious from the very first bite. It wasn't just the mild softness of a regular tomato pasta — the added spiciness made it the kind of dish you keep eating.

There were shrimp and clams in it, and the seafood pieces were more substantial than expected, which I liked. Eating the noodles together with the shrimp or clams added a savory seafood richness. On top of that, the fresh flavor of the arugula gave a slightly refreshing contrast among the spicy, rich sauce. Personally, pasta sometimes feels too heavy for me, but thanks to the spiciness here, I could keep eating without that heaviness.

Half-and-Half pizza, pepperoni and shrimp

Next up was the Half-and-Half pizza. We ordered it split between pepperoni and shrimp. Being able to try two flavors at once was great for sharing with a friend too. And honestly, the pizza here was really good. I was satisfied enough to call this a pizza spot worth recommending in Haenggung-dong, haha.

First, I liked that the dough had a chewy yet crispy texture. It wasn't too thick, just the right thickness, so the balance with the toppings was good. The shrimp pizza had plump shrimp and corn on top, and the sauce drizzled over it added even more savory flavor. It had a slightly spicy-sweet taste that really brought out the flavor of the shrimp and corn. Combined with the plump texture of the shrimp and the popping bite of the corn, I kept reaching for more.

I also tried the pepperoni. The pepperoni had a chewy bite, and its flavor blended naturally into the cheese and sauce on the pizza, so this was really tasty too. Especially after one slice, you naturally wanted just one more. My friend and I both kept reaching for more pizza while eating, haha.

Why ordering just two dishes felt like not enough

Actually, we only ordered two dishes that day, and as we ate, it felt a little lacking. Next time, I think I'd order about three dishes to try other pizzas or pastas as well. Overall, eating here, Low Five was great for visiting with a friend for a comfortable, tasty meal, and its nice atmosphere also made it suit a date with a partner well. Haenggung-dong is a place people often visit for a date course — eating, going to a café, and looking around the neighborhood — so choosing a restaurant with this kind of atmosphere for the meal seems like a pretty good choice.
