Dangsan self-tap bar's pizza-chicken combo for couples: Long Time No

My husband once told me about a beer place he went to with friends that was pretty fun. You pick your own beer and pour it yourself, which was a bit different from the bars we usually go to.

Curious after hearing about it, I went with him this time for dinner at Long Time No See Dangsan Branch. Pizza and chicken together, plus beer you choose yourself — it was a great Dangsan spot for a casual drink.

What was the evening atmosphere like?

Visiting in the evening, most customers seemed to be there for a beer more than a meal. There were tables of friends, and a general after-work, easy-drinking vibe.

My husband had said the self-pour system surprised him when he first came with friends. Trying it myself, I liked not needing to call over staff every time I wanted more beer. Being able to choose the type and amount yourself was the biggest standout feature of Long Time No See Dangsan Branch.

We ordered the Long Time Peach Set, which comes with pizza and chicken together. For the pizza, we picked the combination pizza, a familiar, easy choice among the menu options.

Ordering chicken and pizza separately can leave you with too much food, but since this came as a set, it was a good way to try both. It's a solid choice whether you're having it as dinner or just want a variety of drinking snacks.

Combination pizza

The combination pizza had a thin crust rather than a thick one. Pizzas with thick dough used to fill me up after just a couple of slices, but this thin crust made it easy to eat as a beer snack without feeling too heavy.

If you usually prefer thin-crust pizza, this would be a satisfying choice. I like thin, crispy crust over thick dough myself, so I kept switching between the pizza and the chicken.

Boneless fried chicken

The chicken was boneless, which made it easy to eat. Chicken on the bone can get messy and awkward while drinking and chatting, but with boneless pieces I could just grab them straight with a fork.

Eating only pizza can get a bit heavy, but alternating with chicken made the combination work well. If two people don't want to settle on just one snack, the Peach Set lets you enjoy a bit of variety.

Self-poured beer

The system was to check the beers available in the store and then pick and pour whichever one you wanted yourself. It was fun being able to try a little of several beers instead of sticking to just one.

When my husband first told me about it, I wondered how different pouring your own beer could really be, but once I tried it, choosing the beer became part of the fun. Being able to control how much I drank made comparing different types even more enjoyable.

Besides beer, they also sell soju, so if you like somaek, you can mix soju and beer yourself. Totally customizable somaek!!

Wrapping up the visit

Long Time No See Dangsan Branch is the beer place my husband recommended after visiting with friends first, calling it fun. Trying it myself, the pour-your-own beer system really did feel different from a typical bar, and refreshingly so.

The combination pizza's thin crust made it easy to enjoy as a beer snack, and the boneless chicken was easy to eat while chatting. In the past, ordering pizza and chicken separately sometimes left us with leftovers because of the portion sizes, but ordering the Peach Set this time meant we could enjoy both evenly.

What I liked especially was being able to see and choose the beer types myself, which is great if you're visiting with a group where everyone has different tastes. Soju is also available, so it works for somaek fans too.

If you're looking for a casual spot to gather with friends or a place for a couple to have a beer in the evening in Dangsan, this is a Dangsan restaurant worth trying. A dinner visit to Long Time No See Dangsan Branch that offered a bit more fun than an ordinary beer bar.
