Daegu Western restaurant weekday lunch set with kids: Etrenne Jukjeon
In short
Etrenne Jukjeon Branch is a Western-style restaurant on the 1st floor of the World Mark West End mall near Jukjeon Station in Dalseo, Daegu. On the first day of summer vacation the writer came with two elementary-school kids for the weekday lunch set — garlic baguette, salad, shrimp aglio olio, half-and-half lasagna and americano — then added teriyaki chicken rice and Toowoomba pasta. Etrenne Jukjeon is known as a mood-lit date spot, but it turned out to be just as easy for a relaxed family lunch.

Summer vacation has started!! I hadn't taken my kids out for lunch in a while, so we visited Etrenne Jukjeon Branch. It's famous as a romantic date spot in Daegu thanks to its atmosphere, but I was even more satisfied with how comfortable it was to eat there with the kids — so let me introduce it.
Where is Etrenne Jukjeon Branch and what are its hours?

Parking and how to find Etrenne Jukjeon Branch from Jukjeon Station
If you park in the World Mark retail building parking lot, you get 4 hours free. That said, this parking lot always confuses people trying to find the shops, haha. Just follow this route to Etrenne!!
If you parked on the 1st floor, go up to the 2nd floor and walk from there.

The fastest way is to park on the 2nd floor!! From there, cross the bridge and keep walking straight to where the escalator is, then pass through the mall and you'll come out to the outdoor area.
Keep walking along that path and you'll find stairs. Go down them and you're right at Etrenne on the ground floor! This route is also the quickest way back. Look for it on the ground floor, between Coffee Myeongga and Jojo Kalguksu.
What is the atmosphere like inside Etrenne Jukjeon Branch?

The space was on the small side, but the moment I walked in, the soft lighting and stylish interior caught my eye. It's an open kitchen, so you can watch the food being made, which added to the sense of trust.

The tables were spaced generously apart, so there was little interference from neighboring seats, and the quiet atmosphere made it easy to talk while eating. It felt like a space that would work well for blind dates, anniversaries, family dinners, or any special occasion. I could tell right away why it has so many reviews as a Daegu date spot.
What comes in the weekday lunch set, and what we ordered

Etrenne Jukjeon Branch is a restaurant where you can enjoy a wide variety of Western dishes, from steak to lasagna, pasta, and risotto. Besides à la carte items, they also offer set menus, and since we visited on a weekday, the lunch set was available. It comes with handmade garlic baguette, salad, a choice of pasta, lasagna, and americano — we chose half-and-half lasagna and shrimp aglio olio for the pasta!

After ordering, they set the table, and the warm garlic baguette and salad were served.

The bread that came before the meal was crispy on the outside and moist inside, with a subtle hint of butter and garlic — delicious. The salad that came with it had fresh vegetables, cherry tomatoes, black olives, and cheese all working well together, and the tangy dressing was enough to clean the palate.

Here's the shrimp aglio olio we chose from the set, plus the teriyaki chicken rice we added on. My mouth is watering just looking at the photo again.
Shrimp aglio olio: is it okay for kids?

Since we came with elementary-school-age kids, the staff let us know the aglio olio has chili peppers in it and can be spicy. We wanted to try it as it normally comes, so we asked for the regular spice level. It had a slightly spicy kick, but the kids — who love spicy food — picked it as their number one dish. Oil pastas can easily feel greasy, but the balance of seafood and pepperoncini here made it delicious.

Teriyaki chicken rice was my top pick
I ordered the teriyaki chicken rice mainly to balance out the spice, without expecting much, but it turned out to be my personal favorite 👍🏻 The chicken well-coated in teriyaki sauce and the braised, stir-fried peppers had that irresistible sweet-and-salty flavor. Great for the kids, and adults loved it too!

What is the half-and-half lasagna like?
The dish I was most looking forward to this visit, the lasagna, finally arrived. Looking at the photos beforehand, I was curious how it would taste. The half-and-half lasagna is filled with meat and mashed potato. Unlike a typical lasagna, Etrenne's version is rolled pasta filled and baked, giving it an upscale visual.

Baked in the oven with plenty of cheese on top of a rich tomato sauce, it had a savory depth to it, and the meat and cheese filling inside blended together well. The tomato sauce wasn't overly acidic, so it was easy for anyone to enjoy, and the savoriness of the cheese made it good down to the last bite.
Tasting it myself, I could fully understand why so many people recommend it as a top lasagna spot near Jukjeon Station!
Adding Toowoomba pasta, saving the steak for next time
I'd heard that Etrenne is known not just for lasagna but also as a great steak spot near Jukjeon Station, and I wanted to try it, but the portions are large so I skipped it this time. Feeling a little sorry about that, I added an Outback-style Toowoomba pasta instead 😆

Can you see how thick and rich the Toowoomba sauce is?? 😍 It looked appetizing, living up to its reputation as the best pasta on the menu.
The rich cream sauce and chewy noodles were a memorable combination. I'd heard it's spicier than the oil-based pastas, so I ordered it a bit milder, and it turned out flavorful without being overpowering — a great dish to pair with the lasagna and steak.

Even the kids dug in with their faces practically in the plates — it had been a while since we had such a delicious Western-style course meal 👍🏻 Corkage is free for dinner service too, so it seems like a great spot for a nice meal with a partner or family. If you're looking for a restaurant that satisfies both atmosphere and food quality, I recommend Etrenne!
