Decaf coffee shop in Dobong, Seoul with gimbap lunch: Uisagye
In short
Uisagye is a large dessert café that fills an entire building on Uicheon-ro in Dobong, Seoul. Visiting at lunchtime, the writer ordered an iced decaf latte for 5,800 won, chimney gimbap (seaweed rice roll) for 8,800 won and a chocolate marble pound cake for 4,500 won, and the decaf beans — a Colombia and Guatemala blend at 8:2 — ranked among the best decaf coffee anywhere. Even as a big café, Uisagye stayed quiet enough for a long solo visit.

Visited Uisagye, a café by Uicheon Stream, on a really beautiful day.

What kind of café is Uisagye? A big dessert café on Uicheon-ro
Uisagye is at 178 Uicheonro, Dobong-gu, Seoul, and the owner runs the entire building as a café. On the exterior hangs a model of the café's signature chimney bread.

It feels like a converted house.

Inside, big glass windows let in plenty of light. They had the lights on, but I think it would be fine without them during the day.

Is Uisagye good for working or studying alone?
Tables and seats on the 1st floor of Uisagye. There were people spending time with friends, but also many customers working alone — despite being a large café, it had a quiet atmosphere, good for spending time solo.

You can choose between bright acidic beans, nutty beans, or decaf beans — they take coffee just as seriously as dessert.

Uisagye amenities: baby chairs, pets welcome, self-serve bar
Uisagye has several books to read, and water and tissues are self-serve.

Baby chairs are available, and it's a pet-friendly café, so as long as you keep a few guidelines in mind you should be fine.

A clean restroom usable on the 1st floor.

The second floor and terrace at Uisagye
Heading up to the 2nd floor, you can also use the terrace, and there are more tables and chairs than on the 1st floor.

Very satisfied with how the table setup fit the space perfectly. The 1st floor was a bit cooler than the 2nd, and I actually liked that the AC breeze wasn't too strong.
Lunch at Uisagye: chimney gimbap and a decaf latte
Since I came to the café instead of having lunch, I ordered dessert-menu items that could double as a meal.

- Iced decaf latte ₩5,800
- Chimney gimbap ₩8,800
- Chocolate marble pound cake ₩4,500

The chimney gimbap was so cute. The drink cup was a nice touch too, served in a chimney-shaped cup!

How good is the decaf coffee at Uisagye?
I chose the decaf beans, which are apparently a blend of Colombia and Guatemala at an 8:2 ratio. It's said to carry a fragrant citrus acidity along with the nutty flavor of pistachio and peanut. I think it was one of the best decaf coffees I've had.

Chimney gimbap, 8,800 won
Chimney gimbap (chimney bread stuffed like a roll) is a hearty chimney bread packed with Emmental cheese, jambon, and arugula.

Definitely recommend this among the chimney bread items as a full meal! Whoever came up with this idea deserves credit. It tastes like eating a chewy, sweet-and-salty sandwich, and the pickled tomato served alongside has a slight kick that pairs perfectly.

Uisagye — great for coffee, dessert, and atmosphere.
