Gangneung café with rooftop sky stairs: Baegya Coffee

I visited Baegya Coffee, an ocean-view café near Sacheonjin Beach in Gangneung, where everything was perfect: sea views, delicious bread, and great coffee.

Is parking convenient?

When you travel, parking battles can honestly be so stressful, right? But Baegya Coffee has a very spacious parking lot, so I was really pleased from the first impression!

A parking attendant even kindly guided us, making parking so easy. We parked on the second level and went straight in through the second-floor entrance.

The spaces on each floor and Sacheonjin Beach views

Baegya Coffee is a large café that uses the entire building, from the first floor to the fourth-floor rooftop. Maybe because it is a newly opened café, but everything from the exterior to the interior was so clean and stylish!

• 1st floor: Ordering and a wide bakery selection
• 2nd–3rd floors: Spacious, comfortable seating where you can fully enjoy the ocean view
• 4th-floor rooftop: A Sky Stairs photo spot where you can get a lifetime shot with the refreshing sea breeze

We entered on the second floor, where the seating was generously arranged to give everyone an open view of the sea.

Once we settled into a window seat, the blue sea of Sacheonjin Beach filled my view. I could not help saying, “The sea is so beautiful!”

I chose corn bread and a long bread

We went down to the first floor to order, and the nutty aroma of bread hit us as soon as we entered. There were seriously so many kinds of bakery items that I thought, “So this is a bakery known for its bread!” After thinking about it for a while, I bought corn bread and a long-shaped bread.

The nutty flavor and softness the moment I took a bite... they were seriously, seriously delicious!

We had lunch planned afterward, so we had no choice but to leave some of the bread unfinished.

What impressed me was that each floor had neat packing containers and a self-packing station! We could pack up the bread neatly without having to ask the staff one by one or feel self-conscious. Such a thoughtful touch.

Coffee with a sea view

Sometimes an ocean-view café has a great view but disappointing coffee, right? But Baegya Coffee's coffee was rich and excellent, too.

• Iced Americano: Nutty and clean, a perfect match for dessert!
• Café latte: The deep flavor of the beans and the softness of the milk came together beautifully!

Sipping a cool, rich coffee under the warm sunlight while looking out over open Sacheonjin Beach made all my built-up stress disappear. “The atmosphere is absolutely insane” is exactly the right way to put it!

The rooftop Sky Stairs photo spot

After enjoying our coffee and bread, we went up to the fourth-floor rooftop. There, Baegya Coffee had prepared its signature “Sky Stairs” photo spot!

Climbing the stairs and taking photos at the boundary where Gangneung's blue sea meets the sky, I got some truly perfect lifetime shots. If you visit, I definitely recommend taking photos at the rooftop spot!

You can take the elevator between floors, and they even provided a stand, which showed such thoughtful consideration.

Final thoughts after my visit

• Location: Directly in front of Sacheonjin Beach in Gangneung
• Parking: Large private parking lot and convenient attendant guidance
• Highlights: The whole four-floor building, ocean-view-focused seating, self-packing stations on every floor, a varied bakery selection, rich coffee, and a rooftop photo spot
• Would I return? 200%!
