Ansan dessert café for evening pound cake takeout: Flowerpot Cafe

Walking the alleys of Gojan-dong, Ansan one evening, I got pulled in by the bright yet cozy lights of a spot — this dessert café called Flowerpot.

The pretty flower decorations outside caught my eye right away, and the moment I opened the door, a wave of savory bread smell along with the spacious, pleasant interior stopped me in my tracks.

I heard Flowerpot Cafe was a new dessert café and hotspot in Gojan-dong, Ansan, so I hurried over to check it out.

True to the name Flowerpot, pretty flower decorations covered the exterior, making it stand out even from a distance.

Opening the door, I was surprised at how much bigger the interior was than I expected. The spacing between tables was generous and the seating varied, so any seat looked comfortable to settle into.

On one side stood a long bakery display case, packed with so many kinds of bread it was genuinely fun just picking.

True to a proper bakery, Flowerpot had an incredibly mouthwatering array of breads and desserts on display. Croissants, scones, tarts, cakes — they had it all. I fell into a happy dilemma over what to choose.

Prices were reasonable too, so trying several things felt worry-free. Pound cakes and pies were around ₩6,000, scones around ₩3,000, and tarts and cakes ranged from ₩5,000 to ₩8,000.

From anbutter salt bread to fig pound cake, lemon pound cake, and blueberry pie, the case was full of desserts that made my mouth water just hearing the names. The anbutter salt bread in particular looked amazing, with the saltiness of the salt bread balancing perfectly against the sweetness of the anbutter (red bean and butter filling).

There was also a range of cakes — roll cake, chocolate cake, orange marble pound cake — that would make great gifts too.

Each one had such beautiful, careful presentation that I couldn't help but be impressed.

Beyond the bakery, Flowerpot also offers a range of drinks and bingsu (shaved ice dessert). A bowl of cool bingsu paired with sweet bread sounded like the perfect dessert time.

The packaging was neat too, so it was great for taking home to eat.

Amenities and takeout review

There's a self-packing station on one side of the store where you can pack up leftover bread or neatly bag purchases meant as gifts. I packed a few things to bring home, and the bags were pretty and sturdy — very satisfying.

The meringue cookies I received through a review event were sweet with a good crunchy texture — perfect as a snack.

With a wide range of bakery items, drinks, and a seasonal bingsu menu, Flowerpot was a dessert café in Ansan that anyone, of any age, could enjoy. If you're looking for a dessert spot in Gojan-dong, I strongly recommend this place for a relaxing time with fresh, delicious bread.
