How to get to Modak Texas Barbecue from Dongdaegu Station, and parking
If you're taking the subway to Modak Texas Barbecue Dongdaegu Branch, Exit 2 of Dongdaegu Station is by far the most convenient way in!
If you're driving, you can use the MD Building parking lot, and they support ₩4,000 of the parking fee haha. Parking near Dongdaegu Station is always a headache so I usually avoid the area, but when they take care of the parking issue this cleanly, there's really no reason not to go~~~~
Exterior
The sign reading Modak Texas Barbecue along with the outdoor barbecue setup gave off a real urban barbecue-yard vibe!

As soon as I stepped inside, the wood-toned interior and the perfectly Texas-style neon signs caught my eye.
The seats are spaced well apart and the restaurant itself is spacious, so it works for lunch dates, wedding-invitation gatherings, couple dates, and since they have baby chairs, you can also have a comfortable meal with a baby!
Right at the entrance there's even a marshmallow zone...! This is basically a barbecue yard!!!!

Nachos and witch's soup
After ordering, the nachos and witch's soup came out first!
But this thing.... this thing is dangerous.....
The combo of witch's soup and nachos was so good we dipped away at it like it was a competition, hahaha
It's loaded with potato, carrot, and tomato inside, and the seasoning is salty with a slight kick of spice! It was so good it disappeared within minutes.
🔥 Whole Pork Belly Bacon Set (₩16,000)
Out came a thick whole pork belly, filled with that smoky aroma!!
It's thick yet cooked so tender it shreds right along the grain.
It comes with a solid lineup too — cabbage coleslaw, pico de gallo, diced pickles, and three kinds of sauce!
And salad, tortillas, and dinner rolls on top of that! It's such a full spread, isn't it...!! Wrapping it up in various combos, you'll be full in no time.
Can you see the texture of the meat? It's so tender you barely need a knife — just touch it with a fork and it separates right away! I think you could bring kids who eat regular food along and share this without any worries :-)

Out came a thick, layered brisket set!
Cooked to a perfect medium-rare,,!!!
The meat was so thick I compared it — it was about the thickness of a small paper cup, hahahahaha
The brisket also needs no knife — you can just pull it apart chunk by chunk with a fork! Whether it's the barbecue skill, it was well cooked all the way through and full of juice,,!!!

The lobster arrived!! Scrape it all up -!! The meat is nice and plump, and it also comes with corn cheese and round pasta noodles mixed in, so you get to enjoy a variety of textures!!

After eating two tortillas plus one dinner-roll burger, I was like... haha... this is a problem... I'm so full... hahahahaha
🔥 Shrimp Squid-Ink Pasta (₩12,000)
Can you see the steam rising,,!! Out of all the squid-ink pastas I've had, this is the first one this rich and creamy,,!! The richness of the cheese was really on another level!
Honestly, at first I wondered if the portions would be enough...? so I even ordered the pasta on top... but that was my mistake.... The two-person lunch special alone was already more than enough — it was massive.. I'd only recommend adding the pasta if you're truly a big eater.... hahahahaha
